Yes, I went with the M Performance. I didn't have a chance to compare the M Performance with an Eisenmann in person, just went off of clips and comments/reviews. Here's a great review for a guy that has had both. I totally echo his comments on the M Performance. The M Performance is a very linear sounding exhaust in respect to throttle input.

Excellent read. I would agree with his comments on the Eis Sp, so probably agree on his M comments as well. I do think the M Perf would be better for me, but price is a big factor.

At the end of the day however, the M Perf would have cost me over $2k more than what I paid. So until they come down big time in price, I'll stick to what I have and be happy

Love my Eis Sport! Had it originally on my '08 M3, re-installed it now on my '11. I have 30K miles total on it. Great sound and quality for the investment. Enjoy!

Well, instead of posting my own thread, I will add my thoughts here.

Just had my Eisenmann Race installed on Friday with stock x and connecting pipes. First time I started it after install, I was like...WOW, that's loud. Driving left me very impressed with the agressive growl under acceleration. However, it would be nice if it wasn't so loud, all the time. Even when I am doing a 0-60 in 15s, it sounds like I am driving at WOT.

Cruising, it's a bit louder than stock and I find that it drones between 1800 and 2000 RPM. At 2500RPM, it sounds great.

Startup will be an issue. With my old car, which had a 6MT, I would have to roll it out of the garage and onto the street before starting it if I was leaving before my kids woke up. Now that I have DCT, that isn't really an option anymore. I guess I will have to plan ahead and leave the car outside if I am anticipating leaving before my kids are awake in the morning.

Anyways, for now, I love the exhaust. It definitely turns heads, for better or worse. It will take a little getting used to and some "essplaining" to do to the wife.

I debated the race versus sport for a long while since I also have kids, typically take clients in the car and decided on the race. It is louder but not obnoxious and I think I would have wanted a little more sound than the sport has to offer, but I am also certain you probably can not make a bad decision between the 2 of them.

Where are you all getting your prices for the Eisenmann exhausts?

From IND's website, I see it listed as $2839 without the connecting pipes. $3424 if you get the pipes with it. Noticed that the M Performance is mostly sold for almost the same price (I believe Tischer has it for $3450 with free shipping). If you want the black canisters or black series Eisenmann, it's $3339 without the connecting pipes... Basically the same as the M Performance. How is this "such a price savings?"

I don't get it. People complain about the price of the M Performance exhaust, when it really isn't that much more expensive than the other well known names. Of course you could go other routes (like Gintani or a few others) which are way cheaper than both of these.

Buying used systems is different of course, like the OP did.

I happened to pick up an eisenmann sport black series exhaust from the classifieds, and am very happy with it. It isn't overly aggressive, just a nice step up from stock, dare I say maybe even how the car should have sounded stock. The car is a dd for me as well and didn't want to go too aggressive at first.

Not sure what I am going to do yet, if anything. I want something that sounds a little more exotic, with a little deeper overall tone, but I don't want it louder. I like the quiet of the stock system at cruise. If it rips when I get on the gas...well, that's not such a bad thing !!

I have an Eisenmann Race catback exhaust. It's deep, mellow but fierce. It's hard to explain but I'm in love with it and would not have it any other way.

Finally got my Eis Sport installed over the weekend, and so far i love it.

A few thoughts.

1. It's definitely louder on cold start - not too loud, just enough to let you know it's a V8.
2. It's got a great tone especially in the lower rpm range, sounds great cruising around town.
3. Drone is virtually non-existent.

A happy camper so far.

Did you do any research on the race before you got it? What did you expect. The range you are talking about is only as you pass through the RPM range. What are you doing cruising at 2500? You need to be above 3200 at least.
