From what I'm gathering...you need to carefully choose your mods before you start TT. Right now both my M3 and 330 would get pummeled by TTA cars unless I de-mod or go balls to the wall.

You are right if I bought the AST 5100s. However, the 4100s are 22 mm: AST 4100 Rebound Adjustable ("Singles") 22mm diameter shaft struts, non-inverted Steel cylinder body shocks, non-inverted Rubber bushings for "eye" shock mounts Optional spherical upper shock mount assemblies Non-synthetic hydraulic fluid Also, it appears these are non-inverted so it would only be 3 pts for the shocks and 2 pts for springs (totalling 5 pts). I'd more happy to meet up... Just shoot me a PM. Today may be the day I pull the trigger on a car. Will keep people posted... Thanks to everyone for a great discussion thus far.

UPDATE - NEW CAR PURCHASE: This will certainly come as a curve ball to those who have been following this thread. I bought a car today but it was none of the three options I had been contemplating. I got an amazing deal trading my '10 GTI for a 2012 328i, sport package, that had less than 4K miles. I absolutely love the car.
So what does this mean for my NASA TT plans? They are still on--just different. A 2012 BMW 328i conveniently falls into TTD. Thus, I could run the car in near stock form in TTD (taking an automatic 5 pts for turbo). With a car this new, I may just run it in TTD with the stock suspension and Nitto NT-01s 235/40/17. I know it will probably not be competitive but I just can't see ditching an oem sport suspension with less than 4K miles. The other option is to shoot for TTC but I think I may wait a year or so for that. Last edited by JMK007; 01-30-2013 at 08:48 PM.. |

I'd be down to meet up. Having run TT the past little bit, I can tell you there's a somewhat specific method to being competitive.
