Looks like they only give the horsepower they are capable of 'handling' on the 600 / 850 versions. by this, i 'assume' the s 1000r means it'll handle up to 1000hp? ....

*shrug*

This is from their site at the bottom of the page.

That's a lot of scratch to not have a brand new motor. $29k and you supply the motor? Maybe I'm just a technical guy, but I want some more info on what they're doing and what kind of power you're pushing.

I compared some of the spec. info they listed to Steve Dinan's new business Carbahn Automorks.
Steve Dinan rebuilds engines if they do not have cores at the same time also. Steve does not advertise HP as well. Only the work being performed.

https://carbahnautoworks.com/product...g/engines/s65/

I left a message at Arsenal to get some better information.
I have a S65 with a hole in #7 piston.
ESS supercharger on it currently.
Looking to do a low compression build, weighing out my options now.

Salivating at the thought of a high compression, heavy overlapped/duration cam slapped in a gutted E92 with DCT...

But ouch! That is bad news.

Is that a broken ringland? Due to detonation? Too much boost and stock ring gaps?

The items listed on their web page are what I would call normal engine builds for blueprinting. He says up top the engine is blueprinted, then goes on to list all the work that entails. The race shop we work with (Van Dyne Engineering) does all the same thing, and actually more on the cylinder heads than what's listed there. PM me for more details.

Yes. I have my theory as to what failed but I am waiting until my engine is repaired so that I have 100% confirmation on my diagnostics

Their standard engine build comes with forged pistons and upgraded connecting rod bearings and hardware. They do preform cylinder head work as well. I spoke with Brandon there and he is very informative and they seem to have been building BMW specific engines for numerous years.
In comparison to what a used 70k mile S65 goes for, they will rebuild your S65 for the same price range.
Then the options increase from there.

Dave

Ended up sending this to Steve Dinan
Well, its pulled and in the crate...will be going out end of the week for initial tear down. Possibly doing a 4.5 liter low compression build and keep the ESS supercharger
I'll update in a new thread as it moves along

Thank you everyone for the input.
I spoke to Arsenal and they are a great business.
Answered all my questions and was very professional.
My shop has a long relationship with Steve. This will be the 3rd engine built with him in 1 year. With options and multiple discussions, it was the chosen route

What's the intention of the car? Supreme cruiser or track rat?

Curious what all else you've got done to compliment the heart.

Just building a nice setup.
Not purposely setup for track or another reason.

Stop tech BBK, Dinan built differential, SSP DCT clutches with all coolers upgraded by CSF currently.
I will be adding a nice exhaust system as this project moves forward and tackling suspension as well.

We have our own speculation but I wont confirm until engine is running and it is confirmed. There are vendors on this site and I have lengthy discussions with multiple companies.
If any warranty on products take place I don't want to jeopardize that.

But, I will be sharing information on fuel injectors and some other topics on S65 engines and boosting them when this is complete with detailed information and legit information from my shop including data logs from my shop.
