Stock wheels are pretty light cause they are forged. To improve on the stock wheels it definitely requires spending some $$$

Not exactly true.

You can get a set of 19 inch Advans that weigh 20 lbs and 21 lbs, for a reasonable price. I wouldn't say they are expensive at all.

I think frank may have been talking about OEM forged vs. aftermarket forged?

BTW: The Advan wheels are made using flow form cast manufacturing. That allows you to remove more material (and achieve low overall weights)...without sacrificing the strength or durability of the wheel. (to a point)

I suppose "spending $$$" is subjective. What may be expensive to some may not be for others. Not to mention the Advan RS is one of a few lightweight and lower priced wheels.

I don't consider the weights of the OEM wheels to be all that light. BMW likely makes sure there is plenty of metal in the design to make them more durable. There are a few 19"x10" wheels that weigh in around 20 pounds as opposed to 25.5 pounds for the OEM 19"x9.5". Of course, they too are forged and expensive.
