BMWUSA keeps on changing my options

on track your bmw... first it was wrong interior color, then adding extra options, now missing one option

grr

is this normal?

Not common but it happens, at least mine did.

Just make sure your SA prints out your spec sheet and it has your production number corresponding to it. Then you good to go.

You can also call the 800 number and talk to the BMW rep and they will confirm your specs.

Hey,
i even saw that it changed my interior under premium package list but the model pic shows the right colors inside and outside!
you should be fine!!

My Options Were Different Almost Everytime I Looked at the Website

What's important is what your dealer shows in his system. Ask your Sales Adviser for a print out of your specs if you don't have one already.

Yeah, no worries.

Mine has been changing too. Like everyone else has said, just make sure you have a printout of your original production order and you should be good.

Everytime mine changes I call and confirm; everytime they are happy to confirm my order.

Mine changed from AW/Bamboo ECH, Premium

Then AW/Fox Red ZCP only

Then AW/Fox Red ZCP, Tech, Premium

IT still isn't correct, but I had my SA print out me purchase order which has the correct options.

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed it

I ordered a 2011 6MT Coupe with Competition Package, Premium, and Technology. It showed up with all of that until yesterday now the online tracking doesn't have the competition package anymore. I do have a print out from the dealership with everything I wanted on it. I'm guessing I shouldn't be worried (though of course I am)?

I had the same problems with options and colors coming and going. My SA says this is normal and she emailed me a screen shot of my official order sheet. Everything looks good to go. Just call or email your SA for a double check.

does not always provide accurate information on your order. For this reason I always provide my customers with a confirmation file from BMW. This form called the Vehicle Inquiry Report, usually has the production number in the upper left-hand corner unless you are doing a European Delivery (which gets updated with the production number later).
  • You get an itemized description of the order with model number, e.g. 1137 (2011 M3 Coupe).
  • Color combination
  • Options usually retail only (wholesale and retail though me)
The VIR should always be provided because it is your reassurance that your BMW will go into production.

I can't say that it's normal, and BMW would likely say "No, that isn't the norm", but the fact of the matter from my experience with ordering BMWs is that production mistakes are made. On the most recent built-to-order purchase, my wife's vehicle was built to order minus one glaring mistake. The tracking info matched up, the VIR was exactly right, but when the X arrived at the dealership the CA phoned to say, "Uh, a trim other than what you ordered was not put in the vehicle. Is that going to be a problem?" Wifey wasn't thrilled, but drove the vehicle home nonetheless.
