Ipod connectivity...

Guys:

I recently had my old Ipod Nano stolen at the gym and tried to connect my Iphone to the car's idrive but it seems as if it is not compatible.

This makes no sense to me, but would I have to get another classic Ipod for it to work in my car?

Iphone should work just fine as long as you are using the connection in the armrest.

I had the same exact problem. Try the app "BMW Connected"... it should work. It worked for me.

IIRC you shouldn't need that though just to use it right?

Guys:

I appreciate the responses...

Luis: Is there a way to make the BMW connected app activate the connection.

I tried everything and nothing seems to be working.

I am thinking that the older Idrive only takes the older Ipods

The only way to use the BMW Connected is by choosing the connection on the phone for it to activate. The car won't activate the connection on its own.

just use the regular USB cable that came with the iphone. You shouldn't need a special cable in the 2011

This assumes you have the USB connector under the center arm rest...

I have a 2011.75 with the iPod/iPhone. I have NEVER been able to use just the iPhone with just the iPhone cable. I may need to check out this BMW connected App.

Edit: Nevermind, I don't have BMW Apps. It's the Y cable for me still.
