Euro Delivery Dealership Suggestion Help
I just can't seem to find the M3 I want with the options I want on a dealership lot. With that being said I am considerng ED. I have done a few hours of research and it looks like alot goes into planning the trip. My first steps would be a dealership.
I need to find a good dealer around Delaware/PA to do ED with. I have read about www.bmwsonline.com and to speak to David but the link is dead and can't seem to find any more info. I would like to get it from a local dealer if possible, but sound like its not really necessary, can I get some thoughts on the matter? Anyone deal with Ottos in West Chester PA or Union Park in Wilimington Delaware? Anyone use a CA at either one of those locations for ED? Also can anyone tell me what East Coast prices have been for ED? Invoice, $500 over Euro invoice? I need to know what I should be expecting the dealership to do on the price. As always thanks guys! |

I got $1000 over Euro invoice from my local dealership in MA. That was about a year ago and I would go for $500 over Euro.
I would highly recommend the experience of doing ED. You have probably already been to bimmerfest.com but they have a wealth of information for planning a Euro Delivery. I think there are a couple of sponsors that could help you out with purchase.

its great that bmw offers a discount on ED. with a porsche, you get to pay extra out of pocket for that privilege. Welt rocks. That was the most pampered I have ever been in a car delivery. And not a single fake plastic plant in site :-)

You don't need a local dealer to do Euro delivery. I'm in SC and ordered through a dealer in Illinois.
I would highly recommend the euro delivery option. Great cost savings, nice trip and the customer service over there is outstanding. PM me for more details and if you want a recommendation. |

The only thing i noticed when having euro delivery with a different dealership than local was the local one tends to not offer goodies such as bmw loaner when you are in for service. i guess it depends on the dealership. i think generally its good idea to pick a local dealer that has a good rep of taking care of its customers and working euro delivery with them. They all should help and with this economy i don't think it would take much arm twisting really.

If you head over to bimmerfest.com, they have a very good Euro Delivery forum with a sticky that lists recommended dealers.
In MD, I have done 3 ED's so far with Joern Esser at Passport BMW, he is a native of Munich and one of the top ED specialists on the East Coast. Just search his name in that ED forum I've mentioned. He's easy to work with and will take care of you all the way. There's also a very good chance he'll give you a good price right from the get-go - if you call him, tell him Andrei said hi. There is no need to meet with him, just negotiate over the phone and he'll fedex you all the paperwork. As far as Euro Delivery is concerned, the experience is really mind blowing - and the savings doesn't hurt either. With the ED discount, BMW essentially picks up your airfare and the vacation/hotel tab for about a week (and Lufthansa has ED special deal where you buy 1 ticket and get the 2nd one free). If you want, I can dig up the link to my ED post, I had a blast last summer (did the Ring, some of the big Alpine passes, southern France and Spain). |

Where I take my car in for service, people who are "friends of the dealership" get BMW loaners, but not exclusively and not always. I've found out it can be as simple as scheduling the visit ahead of time and requesting a BMW, you usually get it (it's a limited pool of cars). For the record, I purchased my last 3 BMW's from a different dealership. |

bmwcarsonline does live, but is now called eurocarsonline.com. david aviles still runs the site. he is the internet sales director for passport bmw just outside of DC. i am ordering an m3 for ED through him right now. no big negotiations on pricing. he charges 400 over ED invoice. i've spoken with him several times now and he is very helpful and i've been completely happy with my service thus far. all of his contact info is on the website.

I paid $500 over Euro Invoice in June 2009 at BMW SF. ED delivery in July.
When you are ready to buy. Just fax 3 local dealers the options of the car price you want to pay with your contact info. You will get your price for sure. BTW tell them you faxed 2 other dealers. They should be competing for your business and not the other way around. |

Awesome thanks! I used to live down in Baltimore and still visit frequently so maybe I could swing in... however working over the internet and phone sounds like my best option and would save me some hassel. I am going to touch base with two local dealerships next week when I have some time to see what they offer but $400 over ED invoice sounds really fair to me!

Jatt, you suggest doing this rather then walking in to the dealerships and haggling price with them? Figured face to face lets them know you are serious, however I never even thoughts about just faxing the paperwork and saving some time heading out to the dealerships themselves.

The other aspect is that if he knows you are soliciting quotes from several dealers, he will try to be competitive. And the final aspect is that some people are just not good negotiators, especially when faced with a seasoned salesman. I am such an example, I tend to not do well in face to face negotiations. So I prefer the telephone and email negotiations... |

My trip was definitely ambitious, trying to reconcile family plans (Spain, Southern France) with the potentially unique opportunity of driving an M3 on the Nurburgring. So you can definitely plan for a more leisurely trip. Feel free to ask questions, I can offer you advice regarding roads, attractions etc. if you tell me the general area where you want to go... |

There is a lot of vendors proficient in ED delivery. David Aviles is not only the best for ED, but was the ONLY ONE with the courage to post "at invoice period" in his famous thread long time ago. Otherwise do a search for it.
Basically he wants to remove all the hassle of negotiating with multiple dealers giving you the best possible price very close to invoice with NO EXTRA FEES. If you are not dealing with him basically you are overpaying. Check his site and convince yourself: http://www.eurocarsonline.com/www.eu...Ws_Online.html Plus when BMW allowed to post the invoice prices, David was the first one to jump in and let you know all that "secret information" . |

Measured, how? It seems other people have had great experiences with other Client Advisors, starting with the negotiation part, continuing to the ordering process, taking care of people when unforeseen problems occurred and finally with the redelivery process.

But that said, there is nothing wrong with paying a few hundred more to go with a CA that you know and trust, or came highly recommended by others. Quote:
It's called the internet, search and you shall find. As an aside observation, unless you want people to suspect you of having a material interest with the salesperson in question, usually one post is enough - where you are typically expected to post your own experience, nothing more. Just a suggestion, nothing personal against you... (and I have absolutely nothing against David either, I wish him all the best) |
