Wow....sad sight! Hope insurance helps you out.
When you eventually get new wheels though, I'd be really nervous about leaving the car out....even with wheel locks. |

Bro I agree with you 100%. S&W 357 mag revolver and 380 auto and a Sig 15+1 9mm are all within arms reach of my bed, but unfortunately shooting someone stealing your property is illegal and will land you in the pen guilty of murder. That's absurd in my book.

If I caught someone stealing my wheels I'd pick them off from the roof deck! You sure your car has an alarm system? I can't imagine them getting the wheels off without it going off. Looks like a pro thief to leave everything that clean... Sorry that happened and I hope you find your wheels, and the thief, soon.

OP Im very sorry for your loss of those gorgeous wheels. Like others said, to Pros wheel locks are nothing. I too had that same feeling of being violated back in the summer of 2000 when I had my brand new Blue Civic Si stolen from right in front of my parents house in a nice long island neighborhood. If you can make a positive out of a negative at least they didnt F---up your car. Though Id be on the look out as things like this are done by someone who knows you and your patterns. I remember when I got my car stolen they did make an arrest and it wind up being some ricer kid from my gym who I would see everday.

I believe it may be OK in Texas. One of the last great states left.

Nothing saves you from wheel thieves these days. Scum of the earth, they all deserve some ass-beating karma.

My friend had the OEM wheels stolen off his E60 550i (the 19 inchers). He had BMW wheel locks. They are worthless against professional thieves. They will come and scope out your car and they have every wheel lock key. They will figure out which one you have and come back to steal the wheels.
Sorry to see that. It's a really shitty feeling seeing that you were violated like that. Here's hoping against hope that the universe pays these shitheads back. Insurance should cover you, minus the deductible. Good luck.

You guys realize that wheel locks are easily defeated just by hammering a socket one size smaller on to them right?
I once lost my key and that's all I had to do. Last edited by mestes1999; 05-29-2013 at 08:41 AM.. |

Short of putting the car on nice jack stands, that job couldn't have been neater. They wanted the wheels and left quietly. The OP left with a wounded pride but the car looking showroom fresh. As violated as the OP's car was, I'd say if it was going to happen, at least it happened the way it did. They could have done any number of horrible things to the car, and instead the OP just has to replace 4 wheels. Really horrible situation, but also really lucky.

On the plus side - my car still looks sexy as tits even with her shoes and socks off lol. - And This could be a blessing in disguise - I needed new tires on the rears and one of my TPMS sensors was out. If the insurance doesnt screw me I'm looking at a brand new set of wheels, tires and TPMS all around. |
