Ok, Who's Interested in a Vred GB?

This is not a solicitation, I have no info nor am I related to any vendor interested in selling us tires....but after punting around in the RAC thread for years, it seems that a few of us one way or the other are gonna need some new tires. I am creating this thread as an outlet for those adventurous enough to go out and find us a deal. Vreds appear to be pretty inexpensive, but maybe we can save enough bucks to pay for the shipping, perhaps a bit more.

If you think this is a waste of time, don't bother to point it out, just let the thread die a normal death and move on to the shed.

Seems to me that sizes 255/35/19 and 275/35/19 will find a lot of traction with the RAC folks, So I will throw that out there as a size. Any takers?

Yep, I'm definitely going to buy them in those sizes. I'll sign up if anyone can pull off a group deal.

I'm in.

Even if this falls through, we can maybe combine our purchasing power to get a few bucks off of these locally.

I have been lurking here for the past several years ever since I bought my first M and just registered a couple days ago, particularly to post about the Vredesteins. I will be visiting a local dealer who I bought my Sessaantas (255-35-19 and 275-35-19) from tomorrow. They have them in stock and gave me a slightly better price than what I could find from two on-line sources. I will mention this thread to my salesman and see what he says.

If anyone would like the results of my conversation, email me.

I'll post a review of the tires after a few more days with them but so far, it is positive.

If the price makes sense, I am interested in the 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 for the RAC wheels. It will probably come down to shipping costs.

Swamp2 posted in the RAC thread that he could get these two sizes for $189 and $193, respectively, but his source set the minimum at 20 sets. That seems like a pretty high threshold. Hopefully we can find something better than that. Sounds like we still have a couple more months before the wheels show up anyway.

My source said he would need to know how many tires we were talking about but I paid $187 for 255-35-19 and $195 for 275-35-19. I will call him back tomorrow with how many sets based upon responses here and PM his reply.

Shipping costs would factor in heavily also.....

I'd be in too, but I think you need two different GBs one for those of us on the right coast and one for the left coasters since shipping is going to be a significant factor for 4 tires (I'm on the East coast like quite a few of the posters here so far).

I am interested. The distributor I spoke with gave me some rough pricing based on 80 tires, 40 fronts, 40 rears (20 people). I posted them in the RAC wheel thread. They were OK discounts but not great and like others mentioned for most probably not worth the hassle.
