Recommendations for auto transport?

Will most likely need to have M3 transported from Miami to CT and I wanted to get recommendations from members here. I have never had a car transported before.

Any estimates as to how much it will end up costing me? I have a few estimates but I have no idea if I'm getting screwed in those prices or not.

Thanks in advance.

I believe InterCity Lines is the best auto transport service money can buy.

http://www.intercitylines.com/

FedEx also ship cars.

Don't have a particular recommendation, but there're a ton of options here:

Hope it helps man. Good luck.

I have had a few cars shipped from FL to DC. Prices will vary depending on time of year (snow birds) enclosed or open truck and gas prices. I have paid from $300 to $550 so CT should be just slightly higher. I would recommend and enclosed truck though, if not the cars just get beat up with road debris.

I looked into auto transport years ago when I bought a used E46 M3 cab from a guy in Wisconsin. The horror stories caused me to fly out and drive it back. I agree that enclosed is best but obviously more expensive and then I believe there is even a pricier option of single car transport.

What scared me is the fact that many companies use independent sub-contractors (basically just guys who own or have their own truck so in many cases little is know about the guy in charge of your car, his professionalism and reliability included. Also they usually pick up a bunch of cars to fill their load so they drive all around and can take a very long time to get to you. You'll find that these companies will only give you very vague estimates of when your car will arrive.

Finally, I've read that, depending on the order of delivery, your car may have to be driven off and back on the truck a number of times by this driver. I shudder to think! Maybe I'm paranoid and just remember the stories that scared me but if I was in your shoes I'd want to know the down side. Good luck

Intercity lines is easily one of the best out there. They own all of their trucks and the drivers are all company employees. I can't recommend them highly enough.

I've also gone the single car transport route when Intercity didn't have any availability and was very pleased with that as well. The guy I used is based on the West coast, though.

transport

I used DAS several times. They own their trucks and do not farm out jobs.
They have many options for ways to ship, pick up points, top or bottom placement, closed truck etc. Check them out.

I had State Transport ship my 335i from Palm Beach to Long Island. They are closely associatied with Braman Motorcars and do a lot of their shipping. They are actually located on Bramans property in WPB. They did not used an enclosed truck but my logic was that it was a car that was going to be driven on public roads, not a show car. In any case it arrived in perfect condition and the other cars on the truck were all Mercedes and BMW so they are certainly used to tranporting nice cars.
