Rear Fender Damage. Options?
The other day, I noticed this over my driver's-side rear fender:
It's a bummer for sure. I asked a PDR guy and he said because of the fender line and the paint damage, it'd be a tough fix. Went to a couple body shops and their estimates ranged from $600 to $1900. Has anyone gone through something similar? Which route did you take and how much should it cost? |

Nothing similar here, but a friend of mine has a very good body shop and so I saw some accident cars and repairs !
Now from what i'm seeing in your pic...it's a repaint of the fender + rear bumper ! So the price is right , but keep in mind //M colors are hard to match, and so your choise must go to a very good body shop !

Hey, actually I just recently had almost an identical fix needed on my frozen black m3, only difference was that my rear bumper was only affected, lucky me? Lol but it cost me 1400, car was hit so icbc was nice enough to put full liability on the other driver, nothing out of my pocket

I'd try a small local repair first of the wing....it might be possible to make a decent enough repair that it would hardly be visible. No matter how carefully respaying the whole wing is done, there is always a fair chance that the colour match to the rest of the car might still be slightly off. If a local repair doesn't work you still have the option to do respray the whole wing.
The bumper looks like it needs a respray regardless...its a slightly different paint formulation for bumpers as it usually needs some plasticiser as its flexible. |
