they took out the headphone jack???
That was one of the major improvements of the GoPro2 after all the complains they got about the original GoPro lacking it... |

I started running the atr-3350 external mic with my rear gopro2 last fall. Very happy with sound. I run wire through back seats into trunk and tape end on mic to top of rear bumper. Just make sure you turn on mic and check batteries. I've been running the new gopro3 as my front but I find the battery life bites the big one compared to the gopro2. Anyone else?

This is what I do, works just fine, and camera's better protected than the flimsy plastic thing they call a mic-case.

Just picked up the audio technica 3350 for the GT-R. Unfortunately, the seats don't fold down, so had to run it out the window then into the trunk, to get it to the rear bumper The sound is great though!

you can use the same mic for any camera. the question is where are you recording? inside or outside the car... (wind is the problem)

I'm using the ATR3350 on my gopro 3 black in my M3. I picked it up after finding this thread. I mounted the mic on the license plate holder like most others here. Can't beat it for around $25(factor in the cost of the microphone cable adapter).
Here is my comparison video from COTA last weekend with gopro 3 black internal mic and then with the ATR3350. I've found that the gopro isn't that bad out of the housing as well as if your car is a little louder. My M3 is stock: Last edited by Brent Dalton; 02-13-2014 at 04:18 PM.. |
