my bro just bought one from steve thomas bmw via golfrrr as well...

betalink is a bit more permanent (as it's an actual glue/adhesive) than the often recc'd double sided tape, just depends how permanent you plan on making this mod I guess....

but no real hardware needed, like any other spoiler, just double sided tape...

I've had mine installed using the betalink. I don't trust double sided tape but it's your call.

I installed using beta link. That way it's really difficult to steal.

Hell, if we're being technical, it's called the "BMW Performance Mk. II carbon fiber spoiler"

Just got mine from a member on here actually. I'm uneasy about attempting the betalink install myself given how many complaints people have had about ruining their trunks with it. Where can I obtain the double sided tape in the mean time?

Never mind, I got the tape from AutoZone.

Hardest part was removing the old one, my tools were somewhat limited for this procedure. It took me almost 2 hours to remove all the old adhesive, Goo Gone just wasn't cutting it apparently. It seems very secure but currently I have painters tape all over it just to keep pressure on it. Very happy with the results

Hardware store.

I used betalink with a help of a friend and installed it no problem.

I think I may have misunderstood what people meant by "taping it on"

I betalinked mine as well. Used a bit of painters tape to hold it stationary. Waited about 4 hours, pulled the tape, wiped around the edges of the spoiler with the remover...easy.
It's on there good an solid too, snug with no raise or gapping.

There's something that no one mentioned. Depending on how picky you are(im picky as hell) the surface area for you to install the betalink is very minimal, so it makes it a little tricky to put enough glue so that it sticks but not soo much glue that it oozes out all over your trunk. One member above mentioned wiping off the excess glue, however depending on as I mentioned above how picky you are there is some uneveness between the trunk and the spoiler, this little gap gets filled with glue and is noticeable to the discriminating eye. Solution take your time, clean up excess betalink with toothpick or other small soft but sharp object, combined with wiping edges with cleaner will get the job done. DO NOT do in direct sun and DO NOT do on freshly painted trunk as the clean up necessary will be difficult as the Beta cleaner solvent may soften the fresh paint.

As far as double-sided tape, I would like to know if anyone has been successful on this particular spoiler. I dont think their is the appropriate surface area on the spoiler to apply the tape to.
