Matching Touch-Up Dye Color for Bamboo Beige Leather?
I'm looking for a leather dye that matches my Bamboo Beige leather interior, wanted to touch up a small area that had the surface torn off but the leather grain backing is still there. But no matter where I look, they always have codes like 520 Beige, 521 Lt. Sand, etc. etc...nothing like the BMW code NCH3 or just "Bamboo Beige." E-mails sent all came back with basically "I dunno" non-answer. Does anyone have tips on where I can buy a dye that can match my interior?

One of the dye manufacturers told me that the M series cars have their own color palette, so what's usually listed are never an exact match, and he would actually need a sample from my car to produce an actual color match. Other dye makers all suggested I send in a sample as they do not have a match for Bamboo Beige.
That being said, I already ordered color code 521 Lt. Sand just to see how close I can get. It wasn't perfect, but it was close enough that I can use it to touch up this one annoying spot and not notice it all the time. For 100% match you'll have to send in a sample no matter what. Only other place I know online that makes an exact factory spec match is bespoke leathering, but they're based in the UK so shipping won't be cheap. http://www.bespokeleathering.com/leathercare/buyonline If you're touching up just a small spot or two, I suggest trying color code 521 or 520, see if you're satisfied with it. 521 is a few shades lighter than NDH3, and 520 is a few shades darker. If you're doing bigger restoration projects, probably want to have a pro match it or try the one from bespoke. |

I just ordered a Bamboo Beige kit from Bespoke. Shipping isn't bad, something like $9. The scuffmaster kit with shipping cost me $30.31. Worth giving it a shot on a few little spots I have on my driver seat. Will let you guys know how it works out.

I got the Scuff Master kit, came with 2 toners and a gloss enhancer, did not need to use any of it. After ordering they sent me an email letting me know it had to be custom mixed and would take a few extra days. It still only took about 10 days to get to Texas from the UK after ordering. Hopefully it will hold up for a while. I'm very careful getting in and out of the car to hopefully avoid any additional scuffs. |
