Windscreen Washer Fluid Overspray?
Got the warning for low washer fluid this morning. Logically, I thought to my self, I need to add more washer fluid! But then I remembered reading somewhere that certain products (rainx) can cause problems for pumps, lines, etc. Also, IIRC there's tons of overspray from the headlamp washers (when activated) up front.
My questions are twofold: 1) Does it really matter what washer fluid I use? Rainx vs OEM BMW vs Generic "Blue" stuff? 2) Is there any way to combat the overspray of the headlamp washer fluid? I've already searched and I'm aware of turning off the headlamps when activating the wash, but I'm specifically talking about that overspray experienced from the headlamp washers. I've searched the forums and haven't really come up with a satisfying answer. If somebody could chime in or point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated. TIA |

1. Stop over thinking this, so no, it doesn't matter. If you're paying > $1.99 per gallon of washer fluid, you're paying too much.
2. It's just overspray because of the amount of pressure required to actually do some decent cleansing of the headlights. If you don't want overspray, might as well unplug the headlamp washer pump. |

Just get whatever's on sale. The big auto parts stores usually run BOGO promos or have coupons.
