Wheel Advice

I realize this thread may be cited in the "Stupidest [sic] Questions" thread, but I throw all caution to the wind and hope that common decency amongst the M3 literati will prevail.

I have the OEM forged 19s and am looking to replace them with a forged 19 inch mesh pattern. Who are the top manufacturers? Twenty years ago BBS and OZ were considered the top makes. Now anyone with access to a sub mill can brand a wheel. I looked into 360 Mesh 8s, but after a brief conversation with a rep my perception of their expertise was shot. Also, the recent thread on their lack of customer communication makes me think they are pulling a Lehman Brothers. HREs look nice.

I'm looking for top quality and finish, price not an issue. These wheels won't be tracked.

Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for a manufacturer that has been in the business for some time with a solid reputation, you can consider Rays Engineering wheels; they make the Volk Racing brand wheels. Also, I don't see how you can go wrong with BBS. You might also check out the following thread where we are considering the possibility of a custom run RAC wheels:

Sir, you rock. Props, respect, and thank you.

And any time you come through PHL, there is a pallet of Chimay with your name on it.

Thank you very much! Its an honor to do what we do, and besides I get to be one of the lucky few that go to work everyday with a smile on my face loving what I do. I will be sure to take you up on that pallet then share a few with you!

If you like mesh it really is hard not to go with BBS. If your going with the 19's the BBS CH look great since there isnt a lip and it wont look as small.

Ah, yes sir, props to RJD........I second the motion, you ever pass through PHL, McGuire or WG I will donate a bottle of Middleton Irish Whisky or a good single malt if you like

Sorry to OP for going OT. But my two sense is if you are conservative and like function as much as form, take anything Lucid says seriously. He is level headed and always seems to have good suggestions.

Cheers,

there are so many wheels out there... Budget and style should really be set before moving forward.

BBS/HRE/Volk/Yokohama... can't go wrong with any of these.
