i have the hankooks on my car for abt 700miles so far.255/30/20 & 285/30/20..so far no regrets...they are good tires and I recommend them if you are putting them on 20s and not tracking the car

the tires hve ant 8/10 the grip of the ps2s and are quiet as well so far

I havent driven in bad weather so i cant comment there

I have Hankooks on my new Vorsteiner 19's and I love them. Compared to the PS2's I feel a significant improvement. They are quiet, stickier, and seem to be wearing fine. I feel more sensitivity when puching the car to the limit, whereas with the PS2's, the car would just break loose all of a sudden... This was all track driving of course.

My vote for the Hankooks. My way of thinking is tires only last a few thousand miles so who cares if you buy a set that you arn't super crazy about, you just mark em off your list and buy others next time.

+1 . I think the Ventus V12's are great tires. I went 275 front/255 rear on stocks 19's and they definitely feel much more grippy. My car would spin through 1st and 2nd before, but now it spins through 1st and part way through 2nd and then hooks up.

I've also noticed that the V12's are significantly more quiet than the PS2's, and they seem to ride a bit smoother .

I just drove my car today thru some bad wet weather and the tires held up great!

very stable and IMO a bit more than the ps2 in the wet

I think this time around I'll be picking up some Vredestein Sessantas, but I won't be ruling out the Hankook Ventus' for the next time around. Can anyone comment on the sidewall of the Vred's? Is it soft like that of the Hankook's?

It's much stiffer than the PS2's.

Google vredestein ultrac sessanta sidewall, there's lots of comments/reviews on these tires talking about the sidewall. One of their marketing features is HTS (Handling Tuned Sidewall) which probably translates to stiff sidewall.

I'm hoping the Vred's won't roll over so easily like the PS2's.
There's a little more thump over bumps for lane markers that we have in SoCal, but it's not terrible.

The V12s are across all dimensions, except for ride, a step down. After 5K miles with them, I wish they were not, but they are. They are much less capable in grip dry/wet, they are noticeably heavier, they are difficult to balance, they are less responsive, and they introduce under-steer. The value is seductive, but why remove from a nearly perfect car.

this thread just goes to show how bad the seat of your pants dyno is and just how much of amateur drivers we really are. you won't know which is better until you try both on the track.

This is why buying tires is SO hard. There are overwhelming positive comments about the Hankooks on various sites. Some SWEAR they are better in all respects compared to the PS2s. Then, there are a few people who hate them and complain about them.

How does someone decide? I tend to put weighting to the shear number of positive comments BUT the negative comments (such as yours) make me nervous about these tires. I guess our saving grace is that they are cheap and, if they do suck, it wasn't a big investment lost. If they are good, then all the better.

I have mine coming Friday with my SF-71 wheels so I will post comments after the weekend. I'm not the type to "like" something just because I bought it. If these suck, I will say so!

Ended up switching last min. (Ventus) as I was able to get free shipping and no tax Though, next set I'll go with the Sessantas.

Are the V12s offered in stock 19" sizes? Also interested on unbiased comments comparing them to PS2s IN STREET conditions.

Hate when people make a negative comment without specifics. I don't personally care if they grip less than PS2s if they're quieter; I don't track my car, just like many other owners, making the PS2s all but overkill. Thx.

Hey JC,

As far as my experience goes it looks like they grip a little BETTER than the PS2s in dry conditions (disclaimer: I did go 10cm wider front & rear ). My car used to spin all the way through 1st and 2nd, but now it hooks up in 2nd and flat out MOVES .

You also mentioned noise, and I'm happy to report that they are much more quiet than the PS2s, and they seem to absorb bumps a little better.

For the money you really can't go wrong; especially if you're not pushing your car to the limits every day.

Nein, except for the front 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 for the rear.
