It was the Chevrolet Motor Division of General Motors. My C6 Z06 was damaged before delivery - and they never told me - then when I found out they did everything they could to prevent me from finding out when/how/why it was damaged - and after half-assing a repair, thought they could just tell me to "like it or else". (not) I had to give them a dose of "Full Shark". They bought back my car 1 year 5 months after I took delivery for every single $ I paid. |

Depends on the stealer. Z06 in general is a great car. If youre 23 sheesh, you must have money, kudos to you. When I was 23 I was driving a Fox Body Mustang GT, thought I was god then. Couldnt imagine having that much power then, definitely would of killed myself. Get the Z06 at a sizeable discount, and call it a day.

I also was in this debate....I came VERY close to buying a C6 Z06, mostly due to discounts and monster motor....
A friend I go to DE's with has a C6 Z06 & it is a WICKED machine.....a bit harsh on the street but a monster on the track...... The cheap interior & build quality with the slightly harsh street ride is the reason I went with the M3.....plus I don't believe leaf springs belong on sports cars!! :>)

Big props to everyone who replied, well mostly everyone. After work thursday, im gonna stop by my chevy dealership one more time, the particular z06 im considering has been there for at least 6 and half months. If he lowers it to 65k ill take it, if he dont, ill wait for the m3 in july or august (im gonna be pissed if its august), either way cant really go wrong, like a bunch of youll have said, there both badass rides in their own respective ways.

I've now test driven the Z06 twice. That is a fun car to drive. Both of my drives were in 08's and both times I was impressed by things besides the engine. I expected it would have monster torque, and it does. However, I actually liked the tranny, steering, and brakes. The only thing I didnt really love were the seats and the fact that it is a somewhat large car. On the whole though, pretty damn nice machine, and not at all just a muscle car like I expected the first time I drove it. I dont know that I'll end up in one, but I will point out that every time I think about one of the competing vehicles while currently sportscar shopping, my mind goes back to that Z06. I really think M3Kevin made a great point in his earlier post. If you are single and 23, I'd look really hard at the vette. Kind of a unique time in life when you can use a monster sportscar as your daily driver. I'm 30 and married and soon to have kids, probably need the backseat etc the M3 provides - and it is great in its' own right. In your shoes, I might pick the 2 seater.

i feel ya kungfufisherman, no doubt when i get older a two seater just wont be in the equation, right now however, if i do go the z06 route, is probably the best time to go all out with performance ride.

Im thinkin of just stickin with the M3, i had a c5 prior to my infiniti and the thing is, while the c6 z06 does indeed look different from the c5 (interior & exterior), I still got this familiar feeling inside of it. Thats really the only thing that put me off on the z06, i want my next car to be completly different from anything ive ever owned (ive never owned a bmw), but with some power for fun. At the end, i guess its best not to rush and see if i can get one more run with each car thursday.

Well i went to the dealership this morning and well, i bought the z06, for 67000, my M3 which i built was almost 69k so i went ahead and got the vette, the way i looked at i like both cars so either way i couldnt go wrong. But at the end of the day im kind a a power (horsepower) junkie and went for the vette. Mantis u actually helped alot with my decision, at my age this is probably the best time to still get a two seater.

I always associate Corvette drivers as oldies(which is partially true). Just the other day I turned my head to see who is blasting 50 Cent...a Corvette pulls up and it's a 50-60 yr older!

hell im 22 and id never get a vette. Being over 30 and single and what not doesnt have anything to do with my decision to get the m3. Young guys that tend to go for the vette are the guys that are not real car enthusiasts rather basing their decision on x amount of horsepower vs x amount of horsepower which to me is honestly ridiculous. So never a vetter for me .. congrats on your car i just dont think a company like gm putting a 29 litre engine (i know its not actually 29 im exaggerating) in a car and making 500 horses is very advanced. The technology and engineering of german autos is phenominal and that wins in my book, but hey what do i know im only 22 right? ill stick to my m3 .....when it arrives......such a long waitttttt ugh

thanks Hans Deluburk, i got it black with the racing wheels, i f'n love it, it basically all comes down to an individuals preference. To me brute power means more but at the same time the z06 still handles very well, so i pretty much got both in one car. The M3 was nice, but i regret nothin, i just drove it for about 35 minutes, loved every second. My friends were straight up gawking over it but i didnt let anyone drive it (not for a while heh). Ill post a couple pics for the hell of it.
Oh and i forgot, the people who say that it has a rough ride are full of horse shit, i drove this thing on this bump ass road and it felt just fine. As far as tech. goes, it actually has alot of stuff: no traditional door handles, all touch/pressure sensitive, satellite radio, and about 9 buttons of which i have no clue about. On a side note, i swear it has the sweetest sounding & lookin engine/exhaust and pulls like a Mother Fudger. |
