I think it'll be able to be on par or even better than the M3. But I don't speak from experience, just my two cents.
How do you like the Mid-pipe?

Yes, that is enough to beat a regular c63 amg in a straight line. As long as u have DCT..

It will be tough, especially if the C63 is modded. They gain more power from mods.

My Father has a C63, stock was 451hp. We slapped a Header-back and a Tune, BAM! It's at 571hp now.
It's a Mighty Rocket on the Highway/Freeway. If there's tight corners, then the M3 will shine.

^ I missed the Dual K&N Air Filters
The 6.3's block is the same throughout the whole range of MB cars would be making 503hp, 507hp, 518hp, and 563hp (ignore the new 5.5 V8 TT) The SLS AMG makes 571hp stock, so what we did was basically unlocked the available power. Of course if he got the P31 Development Package option with different Pistons, Con-rods, and Crankshaft, the C63 would be making 481hp stock, and I can easily imagine it making even more power.

Well the Dinan Tune is the most conservative tune out there
OE, ESS, Evolve produce more power from my knowledge you can do the upgraded throttle boddies, and headers...but those are big bucks for o so little gains (might as well get a super charger) now, if you want to beat a C63 around the track, which is where you should be doing it... you already have it down as long as you're a better driver.

Easiest mod would be, get out of the M3 and jump in to the Turbo (porsche in the picture)
While the M3 and C63 are VERY close in acceleration, they achieve their times in very different ways. For the M3, the DCT and weight advantage does does a great job of nulifying the C63's power advantage. However, it takes very little effort for a c63 owner to get faster ie, chip. It's safe to give the straight line title to the C63amg, highway midrange matchups, dragstrip, and so forth are going to favor the c63. The M3 on the other hand, will have the edge on the track, road course and so on. Make no mistake, when BMW's M division put a 4.0literV8 into the M3, their intention was not to build a drag strip monster, it was to ensure that your car is as light as possible, while maintaining the comforts of an amazing luxury touring car. If you are unable to accept being slower, I suggest you look into an ess supercharger, that way it won't just be the c63amg you'll be smoking, it will be other heavy hitters. So you're doing all those mods to your car just to beat a STOCK C63? Not exactly sure it'll be much to brag about. If all you want to be is fast in a straight line, you bought the wrong car. |
