My dealer says my order didn't go thorugh
Hello,
I've placed an order for 09' M3 Coupe on July, at that time they didn't have 09' price list but agreed to order and sell it based on 08 price chart. $69K flat plus tax and license fee. so I put deposit on it and got a product# about 2 weeks later. but then product# didn't work until yesterday and got an email from my dealer today. It says, BMW delayed building the original order with Production # 678XXXX, they did not give us any more allocation or early build (Sept. production). so he made his dealer request a September Build car(that was all ready build) and found one car that matched closest to what I wanted. it has everything I wanted but more - Blue gray Brushed Aluminum, 19" wheels and the Power sunshades. Then he said This is to common on early new year production, and asked me to pay more for extra options if I want to take this car. I've waited for my new M3 for about 3 months, and I'm very disappointed.... sigh, I have no ieda what to say or to do next... |

this sounds a little too fishy for me.
If they have a car coming, that means they would've been able to option the car in August for you. Unless, this is a really small dealer and they get 1-2 M3 allocations every couple of months (unlikely). Why don't you shop around and get a better price for an ordered '09 coupe. there are lots of deals out there. just find the right dealer. I ordered a fully loaded '09 coupe (tech, premium, dct, 19") for ~66K before taxes. Plus I got all the options I wanted and none that I didn't want. good luck |

The CA should have been able to change the ordered car to match what you wanted and not charged you for options you don't want.
I have a 677xxx Production Number and it was finished this week 9/17. So 678XXX hasn't been produced yet. I also think they ordered a 2008 car late in July for you and then it was switched to a 2009 car since I think after July 4th you couldn't order any more 2008's. The BMW Factory is closed in August for 2009 production tooling. My CA ordered my 2009 M3 online in front of me this month in 15 minutes and the car was produced 12 days later. Good luck... Aloha, |
