Welcome. Nice attempt.

We all crop our moon shots and you'll want to add a good bit of Contrast in processing to make the features stand out. I also "cheat"

by using 1,000mm lens before I crop even more:

One of the last shots I took with my 70-300L before trading it in. From my hotel room in Boston on July 14th. Shot with the Kenko 1.4x TC.

I get to 1,000mm by adding a 2.0x teleconverter to my 500mm lens. I highly recommend teleconverters to extend the "reach" of your lens. Be aware that many cameras will not AF at 2.0x, but most can handle a 1.4x TC.

I carry a can of Off spray in my gear bag because of the mosquitoes in Florida, who are out in full force out west at the times I love to go shooting... And wear long sleeve. Got eaten alive a couple of times before I started carrying the Off spray everywhere.

I had to part with my first X6 and missed her for the entire 12 months before I got my second one.

Hopefully whatever you're getting in her place is a worthy replacement.
