Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

^^^ Maybe your bad MPG is because of your SES light?
If I drive it hard for a tank I'll get 10 or 11. If I drive normal 15 or 16. Super easy and highway about 17-20.

I'm getting 18 right now over a few thousand miles. A lot of it is highway or easy backroad mileage.

I was getting 12 steadily...since I supercharged it has gone up to 16!!!! Oh wait that's cause I'm still breaking the charger in...
I think we all know we did not buy the car for its gas efficiency.. My DD TTRS on the other hand will do 25-30mpg all day long and at worst 19 with a heavy left foot! I guess I actually did make a practical decision for once in my life when it comes to cars! Ill just keep telling my girlfriend and myself that for a little bit longer.. |

just a cheerful note here-this may have been covered earlier in this long thread, but in my car if you actually calculate mpg (miles divided by gallons),it's about 1.5 mpg less than the reading in the dash display.i've checked this 4 or 5 times, always the same.are others having this experience?
last fillup,car said 14.3,it was really 12.8. |

i suspected that it was the same for others.so the moral of the story here is don't actually figure your gas mileage out,and then you'll feel better. i don't really worry about it,i knew the car would suck down lots of gas when i got it,but it has been a bit worse than i thought.oh well, must pay to play, this engine is well worth it,it's an amazing piece of engineering.it does make me wonder sometimes when i see something like a 500 hp two ton+ bentley that's almost as fast as an m3 and gets as good or better mileage.

I live in NYC and commute to Queens and my usual tank average is 10-10.5. I have seen as low as 9.8. With some highway driving it quickly goes up and in all highway I have seen just over 20.

Right when i got my car new. I was getting like 9 MPG, and thought there is no way this car can be that bad. after more driving was getting 16MPG at my best, now 15.8 MPG.
