Which clubs' tech inspection did you pass with this setup? Let's spread that info for planning purposes.

I glanced at the tech rules for my 2 usual PCA clubs (Schattenbaum and Reisentoter) and the rules are explicit for 4pt harnesses: not allowed and per-approved by tech chair only, respectively.

I've used the QuickFit Pro only with SCDA so far. The PCA club rules might be referring to other 4-point setups that do not have the Schroth ASM feature built in. The concern is probably that other 4-point harness types could allow you to slide underneath the belts in a crash. The inboard Schroth shoulder belt is designed to expand on impact, making your chest pivot slightly instead of allowing your body to slide under the lap belts. Run it by Schattenbaum and RTR and see what they think.

4pt are out for Schattenbaum, regardless of ASM. RTR requires a visual inspection and signoff by the chair to ensure proper installation.

I guess that's not surprising--it was either Schattenbaum or RTR that actually retorqued everyone's lugs in the tech inspection line when I ran with them at NJMP last year! I couldn't believe it--the guy stood at my window with his torque wrench and said, "Now what's the ft-lbs for BMW again?"

Just back from Road Atlanta with Peachtree BMWCCA. Like any good safety product that works, once you're on the track you don't notice the harnesses. They work great and hold you in place without sliding. I still wish I could make the lap part tighter. I have both sides of the lap belt as tight as they go, there is just no adjustment left and you can make it tighter by moving the seat up or forward, but obviously you need to maintain a decent distance from the steering wheel and pedals and the other problem is it only tightens one the side that's fixed (the inside belt buckle).

Anyway, overall positive review and no regrets. I'm not sure that an M3 specific application is going to be any better as there is a limitation in how little belt/webbing can be used between the two buckles, both male and female that are needed to put the whole lap belt apparatus together. This is one advantage of a bolted in harness system it's all fixed in each at it's own mounting location and there's usually a lot more adjustability built in.

Hi David,
White E90, pretty much stock looking, B group and SC plates. I was parked next to a white Cayman R (Steve) on one side and silver E90 M3 (Dudley) on the other near the back row.

Would love to, as RA is really one of my favorite tracks. Only problem is my schedule is jammed from now until end of November and I can't seem to find anything in December.

You going to O'Fest? I'll be running the track event Fri-Sun (driving in from Chicago).

Victor, I was there and just down from you, had lunch with Steve in fact. Didn't see you out there. We had a few E92s together (2black and 2 gray, I had the Trout Unlimited tag) about 100 ft towards the Tech shed from you. I wish we knew, I would have liked to meet you and see the harness. Maybe next time. It was a great track weekend!

We need to schedule a day before the end of the year to do this. How many people can you bring?

well it was the shortest 2 day event ever for me. Day one start of afternoon session and have a flat right rear tire (after sitting three hours), got it fixed and day one is done. Day 2 only 1 DE session scheduled and I plan to leave for home at noon (they have 3 afternoon sessions scheduled). So short time on track but still huge fun. The car continues to amaze me in terms of capabilities.

Victor - sorry to hear that! I would have swapped wheels with you on the spot so you could have kept running. I've got a spare apex arc-8 wheel with pilot super sports as well. I'm 40 minutes from RA so next time let me know!
