Hey Derek,

I am still debating it. It is pretty far drive for me. Although, getting some driving instructions from Craig Stanton might be nice.

No good hotels in that area.

See you there!
The Best Western out there is pretty good actually, I stayed there. Too bad it costs 80 and not 40.

I'll know by the end of tomorrow if I can go or not!

I've also done the Motel 6 / Super 8 / Knights Inn thing, and it's as you'd expect...a bed for the night. The BBQ place on the same street (Tracy Rd.) isn't too bad either. All these motels are about 10 miles south of BRP.

If you prefer not to stay at a motel, consider staying in Bakersfield, particularly if coming from the south. It's still about 30 further away from all the hotels on Tracy Rd., but at least if you're going to pay $80, you get a much nicer hotel and are closer to decent restaurants. There's are a bunch of 3-star places like DoubleTree, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, etc. all on the same road. Last time I went to BRP, I appreciated staying in Bakersfield because I still needed to hop on my laptop and work a few hours that night. Needed a hotel with a desk and functioning power outlets (at the Super 8, plugs would fall out because the outlet was way too loose).

Looking forward to meeting new folks. Just put my AiM data logger and camera on the charger...

You were deciding on brake pads, right? What did you choose? I'll be interested to see what's the minimum setup is for a 135i to run at 8/10ths on track without fade.

Ya that was me, I went with the Ferodo DS2500's and SRF fluid. Having it put on tomorrow and then will try to work out my hood issue since I currently have a 12pound double sided CF hood that flaps a bit over 100mph lol. If I can get that taken care of by Saturday I will be joining as well.

Sweet, hope you can come out! I might come to the next Big Willow event to try out my new suspension.

What's the gas situation at buttonwillow? Is there anything nearby to fill up between sessions or maybe something at the track itself? If at the track, what's the price range for 91 gas?

I'm getting ready to head up there and looking forward to meet all of you guys

They have gas pumps at the track. Not really worth the hassle of driving to a gas station

If you are coming from the south, you might as well fill up at Tracy Rd 10 miles south of the track. Lots of gas stations there.

But gas at the track isn't that much more...vague recollection is maybe 50c more per gallon? Compare to Willow Springs, where it's 70-80% more than the nearest gas station.

^Yeah, due to the nominal gas price difference, not worth eating up time in the morning to fill up at a off-track gas station.
