I'd like to buy BBS CH-R's 19" silver and have done some research with various answers. I don't want to add spacers and do not intend on lowering car. I'm currently running on 220M (19" x 8.5 and 9.5) style wheels with Michelin Pilot Sports, 245/35 front and 265/35 rear. So, my question are:

What sizes in CH-R do I need?
Will the tires I currently have be fine or do I need to replace?

So far I've been told to go with the 8.5" for the front while another person said to go with 9" fronts. For rears I have been told 265/35 would work while another has told me I would need 285/35 for the 10.5" rear wheels.

I don't want have to deal with any issues such as rubbing. Thanks!

19x9, 19x10.5 are the E9X M3 offset.
You can run 255/35/29, 285/30/19 which is M3 GTS spec size.

FWIW, I'm running 19x9 and 19x10.5 with 255/35 and 295/30 on stock ride height with NO rubbing. They sit pretty flush no spacer. In fact, you can even run this setup with the B&G's with no rubbing.

19x9" Front ET20 and and 19x10.5" rear ET 25 is what I have listed for an M3. They are designed to fit right without needing spacers.

The 265/35R19 will fit a 10.5, but will look slightly stretched. It is within the recommended range though, so no loss of handling or safety. 275/35R19 would give a little more width. 285/30R19 should also work. It is not officially in my database, but I have seen it done enough to say you are unlikely to have an issue (as previous commenters have noted).

Stock size or 255/35R19 probably best up front.

If running the 8.5 / 9.5 CH-R sizes, you would have to use spacers on the M3. Those wheels were spec'd for the non-M 3 series.

19x9 / 19x10.5 are the recomended sizes and were designed specifically for the M3 fitment. The 245/265 oem tires you have may look slightly stretched on these size wheels, but will be plenty safe to use.

We generally recomend 255 front tires and 285 rear sizes. You will have no problems with any rubbing at all.

the 285/35-19 is a little too tall for the M3. I would not recommend that at all on the CH-R. but if you insist, we have tried them before and we know that they don't really rub.

Julius, can you give me a quote for the CH-R's in 19" (19x9 and 19x10.5) in Black with TPMS for '09, with recommended tire sizes. I don't want it to look stretched out. I'll be lowered on Eibach springs. Thank you.

Just an FYI for everyone- This is not a light setup, not heavy, but it is slightly more than the stock tires and wheels. I just went from the 220 wheels and tires for my track day, back to my CHR's with the 295 rears and 255 fronts. I could feel the difference in accelleration with the heavier rears and as for the handling- the wider rears stick more, and change the balance. You won't notice after a day or so on the accell- but the handling is different- not worse, just different in the ability to rotate the rear.

They weighed as much as the ZCP wheels when the guys at WheelSTO weighed them. As far as rotational handling, would you say that it took longer to rotate into / out of a turn due to width?

BBS CHR Rears at 10.5 weigh 27.8, stock 220M wheels (mine) weigh 26.14.

Add the rear tires weight difference with PS2's at 295 vs 265 of 28 vs 25 lbs and you have a total weight difference of over 4.5 lbs.

That almost 5 lb weight difference can be felt by my butt dyno.

Now, as to the handling difference- Yes, the dynamic balance front to rear has changed, with more stick in the rear. So, in very tight turns where the back end might come loose before, now it will stick, so less rotation. You notice it most on corner exit. Not a bad thing, but just different and something to be aware of.

I personally don't have a problem with any of the tradeoffs, just giving you some owner's experience. I love the look and couldn't wait to get them back on after my track day.

Ryan! so do you recommend 285/30 for rear instead of 285/35? does it look stretch with this setup? and for the front is 255/35 ok?

I had this same exact setup with spacers and H&R lowering springs. 285/30 in the rear and 255/35 in front was perfect on my setup.
