M3 vs CLK63 Amg Black Series

The CLK63 Amg Black Series will feature 6.2L 507hp/6800rpm 630nm/5250rpm engine reving up to 7200rpm. The car will do 100km/62.5mph in 4.3s, 200km/125mph in 13.8s and will have a top speed of 300km/188mph(elctronically governed). It will weigh 1760kg unloaded and 1995kg total weight. It's not fair to compare the 2 both in cost wise and engine output but just want to see peoples opinions on this.

In this comparison, I'd take the MB. However, I would take the 997tt over the MB any day at that price point.

the BENZ looks just much more aggressive than the bimmer. but since my family is all about Benz i'd go for M3.

13.8s to 125mph/200km, isn't m5/m6 better than that. like 13 flat and m3 is expected to go equal if not beat the m5/m6 untill about 120-130 mph range?

Something can't be right with that number. It will do 62.5 in 4.3 seconds but it takes almost 10 more seconds to do twice that?? That doesn't sound right. 12.8 sounds more reasonable based on those numbers unless the gearing was done by a group of complete idiots.

I'd take the CLK Black Series in a heartbeat, although I'd probably never love the 7 speed auto in it, nor the "low" 7200RPM redline. But the rest of the car is absolutely teh sechs.

I agree with the guy above who'd take the 911 (I'd personally go for the GT3 though) if we threw in all cars at that price point. And for that matter, I am willing to believe the M3 CSL - though it may well not make it to the states again - will probably be better than the CLK63 Black Series in just about every way as well.

What i ment to say is that choosing the MB would be a no brainer, but a beast like that with a automatic tranny wouldnt be as fun to drive as a M3 (possibly CSL) with a good'ol stick (IMO).

I just dont think a MB will handle as well as most other competitive car companies...MB are made to be driven in, while a BMW is made to be driven.

It's gonna cost around the price of the CLK63 Amg cabriolet, so it's more like 90$ and that's no where near more than double the price of the M3

Actually, my current issue of C/D puts the CLK63 AMG Black around 138,000 USD, if you could actually get your hands on one.

Anyways my opinion is no Benz/Amg or the Black Series ever gonna keep up with BMW ///M. Just wait till the new DSG/ZSG comes out. If theres .5 sec diffrence on avarage between manual and SMGIII(According on E60 M5 performance figures) imagine what would the new dual clutch system would do? I'm 100% sure that we'll be getting high 3s to 60, since the car can do 4.5s with a manual tranny, just take away SMGIII's .5s advantage over the manual, we already got 4.0-4.1s in our hands and if the new DSG/ZSG or whatever it's gonna be called will be a tiny bit better than the SMGIII you guess rest
