So I'm going to get new tires soon and I figure since they have to take the wheels off anyway I might as well get some spacers to give it more of an agressive look which I have a couple of questions about:

1) what size spacers do people get for E92 M3?

2) what brand do you prefer/where to get them?

3) This is the most important. I know most people get spacers along with suspension drops. That part is not really in my budget for a long while, so do you think it would still look good, or would it be worth it to get spacers with the stock suspension? I'm mainly thinking the front with it's big gap from top of tire to fender might look odd with the wheels out more, but really haven't seen it myself though.

Thanks for the info.

Now I'm not very mechanically inclined to be able to do something like this myself. The instructions listed in that link, would a dealer do that? would they charge extra to do it (if I was already having new tires put on)? do you think a BMW dealer would do as good of a job putting them on?

That installation looks more complicated in photos that what in reality is. If you can change a tire/wheel assembly then you can install spacers.

If you car is fairly new then the hubs are not going to be so rusty that you have to use a drill to clean them up. Therefore if you just clean the hubs with a rag -a wire brush is even better if light rust- and apply anti-seize paste to the hubs then you will be fine in installing these spacers yourself.

Just jack the car up and remove one wheel at a time. If you do not have the tools then any tire shop can do this for you for way less cost and faster than any dealer. This is no more than a $40 job in 30 minutes with the right tools.

Just a word of caution. I originally went went with the 18/15 set up and caught some occasional rear fender rub. No damage, but annoying none the less.

I soon changed to a 15/12 set up and it was perfect. So unless you're driving on roads that are smooth as glass, I recommend this set up. The look is virtually identical. I have custom rims now, so no more spacers for me.

I went with Macht Schnell spacers. They are of high quality. And for you own sake, get a tube of anti-seize. If you ever take the spacers off, you'll be glad you made the $3 investment.

15/12 is the most aggressive you run on these cars with the factory wheels. It depends on how flush you want the wheels but these will make it right inline with the fenders. We carry the H&R TRACK+ Spacers which are a solid choice, they are forged alloy and available with the longer bolts.

I went with MS 12F/10R on stock suspension. My reasoning behind the choice was 1. I didn't want to put too much stress on the bearing. The further out you go the more stress you'll apply to the bearing and you are increasing your chances of slight imbalance being amplified. Also, wanted a conservative set-up that wouldn't be too noticeable, but just has a better stance and you can't really figure out why it looks better... it just does. I put them on myself with grease in center hub for the mating surfaces, which gives them a snug fit. No grease the first time and I think they stayed lower on the hub, just gravity, and there was a slight imbalance. I'm talking less than a mm, but that'll do it.

That's incorrect info. Most people are running 12/15mm combos as well as the more aggressive 15/18mm setups with no reports of rubbing, even on lowered applications.

The link in post 2 will show plenty of pictures of M3s equipped with these very combos.
