Personal property Tax in Texas?

Hello fellow Texans. I searched, but didn't find anything related to Texas. My first lease bill online says that the "records indicate that your lease is subject to personal property tax." What the hell is that? Anyone have any experience with this?

Call your dealer.....you forgot to sign a tax form when doing your paperwork. I don't remember the name of the form but you'll get a big ass bill if you don't. Ask me how I know....couple of leases ago they forgot it.....lucky for me I already had the old one on file so the tax assessor had a record and took care of everything...........Phil

Don't think that will work for me. I live in one of the only 76 cities in TX that still charge the tax. This is BS. No exemption for Frisco residents. I get to keep paying tax on my M3. I signed a form saying any personal property tax would be passed on to me. I was thinking it was just a CYA form, never thought I'd actually be charged it. Yes I am. And it won't be cheap.

Thanks for your reply though. (not sarcastic, really thank you.)
