AJ/Roman Can you comment on this please?

I don't know if it is the cause for this particular case but I believe that the M3 has a problem with insufficient lubrication. Couple this with bad bearings with an FI KIT, you have a ticking time bomb.
The bearing issue concerns me a little bit; but I am not sure if it is just hearsay, or a legitimate issue regarding the car. I believe this owner had his motor rebuilt so I assume he has some background knowledge regarding the issue. 08 cars also had the idle control valve problem! Care to comment, ESS?

Elmariachi, excuse my use of quoting you from another thread. If you have any issue with it please notify me and I will be sure to have this post edited .

We have supercharged over 100 MY2007/2008 M3's without any engine problems at all. The GS race/drift car runs a bone stock MY2007 engine which has never been opened to this day, this car has spent the last 2 years almost constantly @ 8400RPM w/7.5PSI boost. Even I am amazed this engine is still running strong with the amount of abuse it has been through.

We have so far seen 3 bad ICV valves on MY2007-2009 cars. This valve is easy to replace.

Thanks for the response! This definitely eases my worries; have not heard of a production E9X M3 ESS kit/engine having any major problems as of yet!

I'd like to say that ESS has been very responsive. Coupled with the 2 year warranty, this FI solution seems very good!

Even in the development phase. Off the hook.

This tells me 2 things:

1) The tune was very good from the start. For the boost level(s) it is putting out a very good amount of power, but still has a very adequate safety margin.

2) Designed with OE reliability and driveability in mind from the ground up.

Props to ESS & BMW.

Didn't see this answered yet, would also like to hear from ESS on this.

AJ or Roman,

1) If you get a 535 installed, are you able to custom tune for an Akra Evo exhaust at the same time?

2) Do you discount the additional Akra tuning or charge the full price for Akra specific performance software?

I think it adds 45 pounds but i am not 100 persent sure.
Does anyone know if this kit can be installed by someone with basic mechanical skills? Can it be a DIY project?

We have had many customers install the kit in their garage. It is a very safe DIY project if you have a good set of tools and know your way around the motor.

I didnt realize i revived an old thread untill now
Ok thanks Roman. A few questions.

Does this kit add 45 pounds to the front of the car? Is it true?

Is there DIY we can use for this or vt2 kits?

Will vt1 or vt2 software take care of check engine light if Akra Evo is installed?

I will pay the difference in price only between kits if i deside to upgrade the kit in the future, is it correct?
