Off Lease Only - dealership
Hello, Im from Ohio but came across a dealer in Florida called Off Lease Only. They seem to have some good pricing on X5s. Anyone know much about this place? Some of their prices almost seem....too good...thanks!

Thank you! That's exactly what I was wondering. I've been looking at their site for a while but just today read some Yelp reviews and some people made comments like "they won't negotiate on a car that's been in an accident" and comments like that so it threw up some red flags. Then I also realized that they don't have the Carfax linked which is also a red flag. Anyway, this doesn't sound like the place for me. Thanks again for the info! |

I've watched them buy on the auction lines, they'll buy anything as long as its a "good deal" or so it seems. Some stuff doesn't look bad from my end but overall I wouldn't take the risk

You get what you pay for. My friend got a descent MB. It had a clean carfax but had a repainted panel. He did a PPi before buying. Of course from there to a good mechanic to do all flushes. He spent a bunch of $$$$ the first week. But over all he has a MB for cheap. Maybe he has run with luck. again you get what you pay for. It's not he worst place to buy a used car but it's not a BMW dealer either. I would take it as buying from a private. There will be no turning back and absolutely no warranty no matter what they say. Carmax would be another one to consider if you are going that way. And no matter what they say, spend the money on a very thorough PPI and save some to do all the fluids and some more.

BMW will sell you a car that has paintwork, new or used. And lie in front of your face. Ask me how i know. PPI's are over-rated. |

Oh yes they do. They all are salesman and will sell whatever they have in front of them. Thats how they make their living. Once a bought a Mitsubishi Lancer sport edition BNIB with two panels repainted!!! I knew when the lease was over on the inspection. They tried to charge me for it. Going back I don't think it's a total bad deal. Their operating cost are low so that's how they sell at lower prices. You can find cars with clean Carfax as well and you can do the inspection if you don't trust a PPI company. Good luck

Amen to that. My M3 has a lot of paintwork. BMW dealer told me the front bumper had been repainted, which I was fine with. Turns out it was more extensive due to the car being keyed. Thankfully no accident, but still. Good news is that it looks fine, especially considering how crappy BMW paint is anyway, but I wasn't happy. |

This is exactly why i stay away from dealers. i just buy from the auction now. I can't stand the lying bs that goes down at dealerships. I can't blame them for trying to make a buck, but at the same time, they should know not everyone is an idiot. |

I am looking at an X5 at a Lexus dealer and saw that the transfer case was replaced just before 50k. I mentioned it to the salesman as a red flag and he said "they probably just did it because it was getting ready to go out of warranty." I just laughed and said that a transfer case isn't an oil change, they don't do them unless there's an issue. With BMW I had to push to get a free oil change before 50k due to the timing.

I recently purchased a Lexus GS450H for my wife from Off-Lease Only. Yes, many of the cars have been in accidents but they are entirely up front about it, and they'll pull up the car fax for you to show you the records on the accident. That being said, any report from Carfax in my mind is worth 2 cents anyhow, as a lot of times dealers don't give any details with regards to accidents and other times they lie.
With regards to warranty, most of the cars on the lot at Off-Lease Only are still under manufacturer's warranty, including the Lexus I bought for my wife. Her first service we took it into Lexus. I would highly recommend bringing any vehicle you purchase second hand to a mechanic, regardless of how knowledgeable you are. Pre-Purchase Inspection's are worth the small price you pay prior to buying a vehicle. While I'm not endorsing this, Off-Lease will give you the keys to any car you want to test drive and you can take it to a local shop to do a PPI for a half hour before you purchase. Best of luck, Elie |

Exactly. Those guys look out for the cheap buys, like cars with accidents and frame damage. I've heard of a lot of pissed off people who were oblivious when they bought a car from them with frame damage, and there was nothing they could do now. They are a great place to go if you don't care about safety or things like that and want to buy more car than you can afford otherwise.
