DCT issue

Hello everyone,
I have 2011 M3 with about 119K. Recently started experiencing an issue with the DCT. In M mode, the tranny shifts by itself at 3k rpms going from 1st to 2nd only. All the rest of gears are good. Recently (about 1k miles ago) tranny was dropped for full service that included new filters, Fluid pump and seals. Does anyone know what might be causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Was the proper top off procedure performed to get the remaining fluid into the case? A full flush takes about 7L of fluid if I recall correctly. Also were the adaptations reset? There is a little bit of debate on resetting adaptations but I doubt it could hurt much.

I’m not sure if proper top off was performed but I would assume so as the guy who did it works on BMWs and knows these cars. As far as adaptation reset, not sure on that. Car drove good the first 1k miles after the service, just now it started acting up.

Bring it back. If he’s so good at BMWs his work should be warrantied or at least he should stand behind his work. Look at your receipts to see how much fluid he invoiced. If it is less than 7L he fucked up. I just did a full drain and filter, vacuum pump and pressure filter service when I installed my fall line pan and it took more than 7L because of the extra capacity of the pan.

You think the cause of my issue might be the trans not topped off?

I think it is a relatively easy place to start and you said it was recently serviced.

This post recommends 7L for a full drain and fill. An under filled transmission may act weird, throw faults or overheat.

I did my first DCT fluid change recently and immediately afterwards began experiencing issues. I thought it might have not been filled to the top so checked and was full and then also did an adaptations reset which helped a lot but still experiencing issues.

Since my car is all stock, I asked the shop which DCT fluid and they used and it was a higher performance fluid which my car just didnt like so went back to the BMW OE fluid and violá that was it drives perfect.

Hope u can figure out your issue soon and hopefully something simple.
