Question About Non-Hubcentric Wheels and Spacers

So my Volks are not hubcentric, I have the aluminum rings to correct the bore for our hubs.

My question is if i run spacers (10mm or 12mm) with a hubcentric lip do I still need to use the aluminium rings?

ALso ive been told that its not good to run spacers below 10mm, anyone have issues using 5mm spacers?

Yes, you still need to use the ring. The spacers are only hubcentric with wheels that are already the correct center bore. You'd have to custom machine a spacer to work without the ring.

spacers less than 10mm can not be machined with a hub centric extension. spacers 5-9mm generally do not leave enough material for the wheel to catch the factory lip, and 10mm spacers can be just short enough to float on the factory lip and not seat properly (which will end up cracking the extension off the spacer).

Thank you!
