How to care for M3 Frozen Grey?
Hi guys,
I'm about to pick up (if someone doesn't get it first) an M3 on Monday. 'Trouble' is that it's in Frozen silver. I've been reading that it takes the right care to keep the paint in top condition, this I'm not worried about, I'm worried about what care! Could anyone who has/had owned a Matt paint car recommend a complete list on what to get to care for 'my' car? And how 'immediate' is removing the bugs? Would 12 hours, every 2 days or so a month be okay? Here's what I've got in mind so far: BMW Matt Varnish Special Nano Wax BMW Matt Varnish Application Set BMW Insect Remover http://www.bmw.co.uk/en_GB/topics/ow...JvdXAzMjEifQ== Also, how often should I wash the car? After every drive (20 miles)? Or is this to often while using the Nano Wax? As it says it's a long term sealant.. Anyone who owns a matte finish and is talking from experience is what I'm after. But if you know something to be 100% fact, please share. Thanks a million and sorry for the huge post! |

I own frozen grey for 2.5 years
I treat the car like regular paint , taking it to machine car wash on regular base The only thing I don't do is wax it ...

Thanks for the replies guys, very helpful!
I was looking at Dr. Beasley's products and have to say I will be picking some up! Trouble is I live in the UK… Meaning salty cold wet roads for a good 3 months. Just couldn't miss out on this (in my opinion) perfect M3. http://www.acklamcarcentre.co.uk/bmw...made-6200.html Lovely isn't she? |

Swissvax and others produce products specifically for matte paint. The main no no is not to polish car with orbital or rotary since any hard rubbing will produce "shine" not what you want. Just wash and seal with appropriate product and realize that any small scratches that you can buff out on regular paint will have to remain. BMW videos on subject are available:
When in doubt leave it alone. Best of luck, I think the frozen paints are beautiful.

Once a month with a full wash, using the Dr B Matte Paint Prescription Kit. Their kit comes with a Paint sealant that you only need apply once every 6 plus months and makes the car look fantastic. They are great people to deal with to top it off. Will answer any questions you may have.

Sup brah. I just bought a frozen blue a month ago and the whole frozen paint is a breeze to take care of.
I got bmw paint care set for free and I also bought the Beasley matte care kit. I have yet to fully wash her but I have used the "final finish" by Beasley to get any road bugs. |

One question, how long do you leave bugs on? I live in Scotland so during the summer most cars become white with midges (small bitey bastards). Cheers |

same here, I picked up my frozen black over a month ago and it is even easier to keep it than my previous M3 (jerez black), I am using Dr. Beasley's prescription kit and the matte finish looks like the day I picked it up. I also ordered the BMW nano wax but still waiting for it to arrive from Germany, want to try that product to compare it with the Dr Beasley matte final finish, no shine or gloss with these products, just a revival of the matte finish
I wash my car every week with DB body wash and have already applied once the cleaner, sealant and final finish, see some pictures after applying it

That's a lovely looking M3 you got there edu! Is that the 650BHP ESS supercharger kit I see in your sig?
What cloths would you recommend guys? As I've heard micro finer cloths can leave scratches on the car? Cheers |

i have a frozen blue.
i keep a bottle of insect remove and micro fiber towel in my trunk. Just check the car after you park it to see if there are anything that needs to be removed. As long as you don't scratch it or wax it or polish it, just wash like a normal car. i go overboard but you don't have to follow what i do. (after i wash the wheels) 1. hose down 2. power washer 3. foam cannon 4. power washer 5. foam cannon 6. sheep wool mitt 7.power washer off the soap 8. large hex micro fiber towel dry carefully. (drag without pressure) it takes me a very long time to wash and i usually wash once a week. if it rains or something then wash again next day. you gotta pay to play i guess...

Yes it has the ESS 650 HP kit, it is pretty fast, here is a picture of the kit. I use 100% cotton soft towels, they dont leave any marks

THANK GOD!!
Just checked out the dealer and on the 20th of December they managed to avoid an estimate £1m scam! Also they've been linked to drugs and all sort of dodgey shit. Checked the HPI and says it has Outstanding finance! Shame. Was a splendid example of the M3.. Never mind, found this baby! http://www.john-clark.co.uk/bmw/used.../bmw-m3-coupe/ I was very lucky. Was going to buy it tomorrow :/ |
