Ive got 255/275/35 on 220 wheels with 17.5/15 tms spacers and the back rubs from the slightest dip. Might want to change to 10/5mm

Hi guys,

My car is a M3 E92 ZCP 2011, and I already have 22,300 miles on the OEM tires Michellin PS2 (245/35/19 & 265/35/19). I need to change them in less than 1,000 miles.

If I decide to go with Michellin PS2 (255/35/19 & 275/35/19) only a +1 to the OEM tire size, DO I need to calibrate o reprogram something because of the bigger tire size? People say that sometimes the Traction Control can activate and affect.

Please advise.

I'd stay with stock size and go with the PSS's. There is no reprogramming of the DSC for a specific wheel/tire. Any deviation from stock and you may or may not notice a difference in the DSC behaviour. Something to keep in mind if you're looking for a beefier look, the PSS has a more square shoulder than the PS2 and as a result will appear a little wider.

I have Michelin PSS 255/35/19 and 275/35/19s on my E92 and they are great. No problems with DSC, no rubbing and handeling is superb. I went with these sizes to increase grip as I am planning to put in an ESS VT2 600 supercharger this summer. I was Pleasantly suprised with these wider than stock tires as there was no loss in handling.

I just put PSS OEM sized 245/265 on mine, I'll report about it after I run them in.

But Michellin PSS has more treadwear than PS2, that means less grip. The PS2 should be stickier on the road.

Denk I was planning on a +1 size, because the roads in Puerto Rico are the worst roads in the world. I wanted to protect the ZCP 359 wheel more.

But I was afraid if the ECU/DSC could affect due to a small increase in size.

Yes. I bought it 1yr 8months ago and I have put in the car almost 23,000 miles. Need new tires and gotta keep on protecting the wheels.

I never ran with the PS2 but all the reports I've read have the PSS outperforming the PS2 in every category. Lot's of positive comments on the PSS from guys who made the switch from the PS2. A lot of guys are running 255/35-19 and 275/35-19 without any noticeable difference so consider that.

Wait why are 275 rears rubbing? I'm thinking of using 275/35/18 for rears... any downside to this? I have stock sizing up front.

I think I might go then with Michellin PSS on 255/35/19 & 275/35/19.

I don't believe this is true. Both Michelin and independent testers quoted better overall grip with the PSS. I read somewhere that the better wear rating is mostly due to a deeper thread on the PSS.

He is running 15mm spacers. It is 10mm more on tires + 15mm more in spacers.

Yes. I spoke last night with a friend who is a Circuit Racer Pro in his BMW E30 in OR and he said the same thing. While the PS2has a thread of 8/32, the PSS has 10/32
.

I'm gonna go with the Super Sport then. More thread and lower price on this Michellin should be the perfect combination.

id still go with the 275 255 for the look only handling is same

I just bought at Costco a new set of Michellin Pilot Super Sport in 255/35/19 & 275/35/19.

They gave me a great pricing installed and everything, $1,338.80

Costco allowed you to get a nonstandard tire size? amazing. thought this was against policy

At first the manager told me that they can only install OEM tire size, but that they can sell me the size I wanted without installation.

After he placed the order on the system, he check that the tire size difference was only a little over 1% from the OEM size, so he said they can install it with no problem.

I'm just waiting them to arrive to Puerto Rico to get them in my car.

By Costco Manager, as long as they are less than 3% in difference in system, they are allowed to install them.
