Sorry to burst your bubble, but BMW is not the best out there...

It's a very good car, but far from being the best.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was told that they have an Audi factory there so Audis are worth less than other competitors, therefore a lot of people choose Audis over other companies...not sure if that's true, but like I mentioned before, that's only something that someone told me.

Anyway, Mongoloid would be more biologically correct, but that one was taken.
Don't forget Afghans, Nepalese, Bangladeshis, and Sri Lankens; also people that make up the South Asian region, except Afghans who are Central Asian. The bottomline is, Indians, Pakistanis and the previously mentioned nationalities are Asian too. It's seems to be only an issue in the US (or maybe North America in general) where this topic is "debated".

I really hate it when people say or assume I'm middle eastern. I have nothing against middle eastern people, but it's a little offensive when people just make a generalization because I have dark skin and wavy black hair (I'm Indian). The middle east starts in Turkey (western most point) and stretches to Iran (eastern most point).

Asia is a huge continent, and probably is also the most diversived region in the world. It's a mistake to assume South Asians aren't "Asian" just because they don't share similar features as East Asians. Although, take a trip to India and go to the east. You'll be surprised to see how many Indians you'll see with "Asian" features. Same thing is with parts of Nepal, Afghanistan, etc.

Sorry for going off-topic, but I had to make a post since this topic had been brought-up in this thread.

That brings up a good point...as you stated, people in those regions or from those regions are Asians as well, but a lot of the time when "Oriental" people mention Asians, they refer to other people who are "Oriental" as well.

So my question to you is, what do you wish or refer to be "called" as? and please don't take my comment offensively, just curious

I also have an Indian friend and we actually discuss this issue one time...I've considered everyone to be Asian but sometimes people do forget that it's not just "Oriental" people who are Asians and so I asked him the same question one time...he just laughed and said he didn't know...then just told me to call him "brown".

I'll take Pacific Rim neighbors any day... If nothing else they do NOT stand at the end of their driveways at 10AM with nothin but a white cotton, too short bathrobe on, a Cigar Burning, and his Damn dog on a leash shitting in the grass... Yeah I've got some freaking white dude, 2-3 times a week his dumb ass is out there bringing the property values down... Nice Guy, but damn, no idea how to act.

Besides, from experience the vast majority of Asians know how to act, how to be good neighbors, they have some semblance of culture, some idea about respect, and they look after their stuff... Cannot say the same of a lot of other groups. Besides, I get invited to Dim Sum... SO Yeah, Asians FTW...

haha I just liked to referred to as Indian. I don't like when some Indians refer to themselves as "brown people" lol. Only because my mother, isn't "brown," she's fair skinned. lol.

I thought that might have been the case; there were quite a few VWs as well.

If you think about it, a non-Asian who decorates his home with Asian decor is considered cultured, but an Asian who does the same is considered ethnic.

An Asian person who drives a BMW is not only choosing a nice car, but is one step further from being stereotyped. Of course, none of us will admit that, but maybe it's the "cultured" politically correct choice for an affluent Asian person who likes nice cars, and ultimate driving machines.
