I dont believe the 3 coupe will change its badge to 4-series because of the 3-series brands success globally. Also, the M3 name is legendary and I can not see the benchmark M3 Coupe changing to an M4.

are you assuming this or you know for sure? So the 3-series coupe will be 4-series but the M varient will be the M3. What the hell.

Don't look now but they might manage to ruin their own company yet.

Hard time believing this when it has kept the same titles for their cars since they came to the US. Why change now?

No one knows for sure what will happen yet.
I am saying that if the name change from 3 series coupe/convertible to 4 series coupe/convertible does go through, then the cooresponding M models (well, the coupe at least) will retain the M3 name. Presumably the rumored F31 M3 touring would also wear this M3 name as well, and so would a F30 M3 sedan if they decide to build one (just as there are multiple M3 body styles today). |
