Winter track days

Got this on my email.. I might do couple days (which may end up all 8 days...). I just need to find out if it is as safe as BMWCCA & PCA events.

Quote:
Just wanted to forward this to you if you are looking for some dirt cheap track time over the winter months. Pacific Raceways has T&T dates over the Fall/Winter for experienced drivers and racers. $450 buys you a Driver Gold Card and covers all 8 test and tune dates (Oct-Dec). All are weekend dates from 9-4:30. That's about $56 per day if you do the math! Also they offer day-of registration at $100/day. Either way it's a good way to keep the rust off over the winter and maybe even practice some of your wet weather driving.

Additional info:

Quote:
We will have race rescue on-site for the event. If there are any oil downs or track repairs needed, we will have the Pacific Raceways crew on-site to handle that. I’ll be getting turn workers from Marie Kirby. I’m in discussion with her on the quantity of people we are needing. I will make sure that every portion of the track can be seen by a turn worker in case of an incident.

Passing:

You can pass anywhere on the course, we prefer the driver in front to wave you by, we will have the turn workers monitoring this also. If someone is not waving you by we ask that you make your pass on the front stretch where you have more room. If drivers aren’t paying attention to cars behind them that may be faster we will approach that driver and discuss the matter with them.

I'm thinking about coming out too...

Anyone do this winter event in previous years? I'm pretty new to Pacific Raceway and wonder how the track is in the colder months.

i'm nervous about free-for-all passing... it seems more casual then what I'm used to at the local HPDEs...
