Exclamation people with 265/30 and 295/30 tires!

is it very uncomfortable?
i'm thinking of getting the VB3s in 19x9.5 front and 19x10 rear with 265/30 fronts and 295/30s in the back
but a little worried about such wider tires
i'd love more grip, especially in the rear
but don't want to ruin steering feel

I ran the Advan neova AD08 in those sizes with those wheels. The wheels and tires felt "heavy" compared to other setups I have had...

In terms of grip - those tires are one of the best choices for a street driven M3. VERY good tire!

I have the same combo but with 275/30 up front. Transmits a very small amount more small bumps but basically the same level of comfort as stock PS2s. A little less steering feel but for me the massive increase in grip was worth it.

I have the same setup, VB3 with AD08s. You do feel the extra mass but the improvement in overall grip is worth the trade-off. It seems like the best setup for the money. I think the main disadvantage in this equation is the VB3s which are heavy. The 265 works well in the front on a daily driver with Eibachs, no rubbing or other issues.

Cheers

I have 265/295 on 18s, and they perform very well on the track... excellent grip as well. in terms of steering feel i haven't noticed anything different. it's all power steering anyway.

and for 295 I'd recommend 10.5".

I am sorry if this is off topic, but why choose 30 instead of 35 in the rear? Isn't that make the diameter smaller than the original spec?

I run 275/30/19 upfront with 305/30/19 rear and found the ride to be a little worse than the ps2. But i'm running re11s

I was wondering why BMW didn't go with this setup from the factory with the competition package.
I have an e90 335 and am running 255/35 18 front and 275/35 rear, but if I had different offsets on the front, I would run a 265 up front.

As the tires go wider they also get taller. So a stock 35 series tire is about the same overall height as a 295/30 series tire.

What tires and profile size are you running for your 18s?

I was considering this setup on my zcp wheels, but ultimately decided against it and went 255/285 (gts sizes). 285 is the recommended size for a 10" wheel... I would go 295s if I had 10.5" wheels in the back though for sure

I'm running 295/30/19 ad08's in the rear on 10" rim. I know the rim is small but feels fine to me. The amount of grip over the stock 265 PS2's is mind boggling.

well the recommended wheel for a 295 is 10-11"
so using it on a 10" wheel is not a problem, it's not ideal sure
and i've seen them, they don't look bad on a 10" wheel

The AD08 having a more stout shoulder looks a little more crowded on a 10" wheel but it is within spec and thus not an issue.

What aspect ratio would be recommended for a 285 in back on an 18" wheel if one were to run a 265/35 or 265/30 up front?

My question is similar to Aus above.

When my Volks arrive, i'm planning on running 265/35/18 on a 9.5" wheel up front and 285/35/18 on a 10.5" wheel on the back. I'm trying to run the same profile size just to try to maintain stock diameters.

I know this limits my tire choices, but there are a couple interesting choices such as the RE050, ContiSport3 (i've got these on right now, and they're not too bad for short sessions).

I've seen a lot of people run 285/30 or 295/30 on the back, but that is more than a 5% difference from the stock diameter. Has anyone run 30 series as a daily driver on 18s without any speedometer or traction control issues?

On a similar note, has anyone tried running 265/40/18 and 275/40/18? This would be a great setup for RE11s.

what pressure are you all using for the 265/30 19" and 295/30 19"?
i can't follow the OEM 33/35psi because the tires are much wider with a different load rating
based on my calculation, to achieve the same load rating based on OEM spec
i would put 32psi front and 31 rear.
that would give me the same load rating for each tire as OEM spec.
i tried 35 and it was way too hard
now i'm using 32 all around but it feels too soft

I've just bought a set of Volk G2 in 19 and the back came with 295/30/19and it fits really well with still a bit of a gap from the fender. The rims don't stick out due to the perfect offset. I think if I have the opportunity, I would go with 305/30 next time.

The ride quality really depends on the tires you put on. These came with Hankook Evo V12, which is very soft on the sidewalls and makes the ride really comfortable. I put 40 psi on them and they are still very soft. The transition and steering are adversely affected. in short, I would not recommend these tires and would never buy again. You really do get what you pay for. My original 18s PS2 were harder riding.

But I think if you put 295/30 PS2 back there, i bet it would feel quite hard, but would handle very well.

I've got 245/35/19 up front and 295/30/19 rear...is this a bad ratio? I'm getting the feeling that my front tires are too narrow in comparison to the rear ones?
