I just got back from a Skyline run and I have a ticket/receipt that is still "Valid through JULY 12/2010".

Figured I'd help a fellow BimmerPost'er out. $15 value.

Just pick up from Vienna, 22182

Cost: 1 peepeetouch

Note: First come, first served.

I know some other peeps in the area that were thinking of going so I guess it'll goto whoever claims it first.

I wanted to go on this, but have a conflict Saturday. Will come for at least part of the drive if on Sunday, but would cut out early to find a place to watch the WC Final.

Or just do it anyway, its a small group and it'll be dry half the time Speak up!

Looks like we're split and so is the weather at 50% chance so lets do the drive tomorrow as planned. There will be dry roads and wet roads so put it in M Dynamic and slide the tail out For everyone else, there's always Skyline Run V.

I'm still in for tomorrow, too. A little bit of rain never hurt anything (I just got new tires, too. ).

Also, as a heads up for anyone who's interested, I'm headed out to Cars and Coffee on the way out tomorrow (weather dependent). It's at Katie's Coffee in Great Falls. From what I hear, people show up with all sorts of cool cars (from Muscle Cars to Zondas) to drink some coffee and chat.

I haven't been yet, but have been wanting to check it out for a few weeks.

It sounds like it typically runs from 7:30-9:00.

The address is:

760 Walker Road
Great Falls, VA

Also, as a tangent, I'll be autocrossing on Sunday. I'm still trying to decide which club to run with.

Capital Driving Club (CDC) is good. Pretty laid back and friendly. Plus they do a lot of events.

I can't make it tomorrow now, BUT I will be autocrossing on Sunday. I'll be at the 11:00 session, let me know if you'll be there!

It looks like the weather band is moving west to east so the further west we go (Front Royal is supposed to have rain stopped by noon), the dryer we will be. Any chance of us switching route and maybe even do the one from a previous run to stay out of the rain?

Note 1: Too much rain for cars and coffee. I guess I'll try next week.

I just moved up here, so I haven't tried them all, but there are TONS of clubs that do autocross.

The ones that I know about are:

BMWCCA
SCCA
Autocrossers, Inc.
Porsche Club
Mercedes Benz Club
CDC (just heard about that one)

On Sunday, I'm debating between the SCCA and the Mercedes Benz Club. The SCCA has some really, really good drivers; but you'll only get 4 runs. People also seem really competitive there. With the MB group, they're pretty laid back, fairly short courses, but you'll get at least 6 runs. Sorry for the mild threadjack.

Is this still happening? NBC/ABC/CBS local news confirming rain west of DC, that's where we'll be

Looking at the radar, we'll probably be OK. Within the next hour or so, Leesburg and west of there should be pretty clear. We may hit a few small showers, but it'll probably work out nicely.

Leaving in 15 minutes. See you guys soon.

Leesburg looks like it's in the clear. I think the roads will start to dry out and be ok. See you guys in a bit.

The drive was amazing and the weather was absolutely perfect, couldn't have been better! The roads were dry when we started around 10:45am and it never rained. Then after a great meal in middleburg, it was sunny with a few clouds and temps in the 70s. That mixed with a light breeze that caused leaves to fall around us while driving at 100mph on a tight back road next to a river, it was like a scene from a movie!

Great group, thanks for coming guys! I'm really looking forward to driving with you all again. I will let you know when the donation has been sent. I know they will be very happy to receive it

DarkStar, for those who donated, but didn't show up/make it out, i think you should credit them for the next run.
