Happiest man on earth

Well guys, I am finally on leave. Got home from downrange yesterday. Wife picked me up from the airport. After some much needed quality time we went and picked up my new toy. Man, I am in so much joy right now. I`ve had some nice cars in the past. 1999 Volkswagen Passat 1.8t. (I really liked that car), then the 2006 Audi A4 2.0 (My last deployments present to myself), but nothing comes close to the M3. I thought to myself. Man, only being able to go to 5000 rpm is going to suck. NO WAY. Its still fun. Alot as a matter of fact. I cant even imagine what its going to be like at 8400 rpm. But I also cant wait find out. Now I did take it on the Autostrada (Italian Highway) and took it to 4900 rpm at 180 km/h. After that I say the little instructions where it tells you not to exceed 5000 rpm AND 170 km/h. I hope I did not mess anything up on it. Shouldnt, right? Anyway. Enough about this. Here are a few pics to show you why I feel like a little boy on X-Mas. I ordered the black and white emblems. The traditional blue has to disappear. Anywho. Im glad to officially be part of the Team now. Will keep you posted on mods etc etc etc. (I still cant believe I got it)....

We use Kilometers. Well the Europeans do. But since the car comes US Spec to Europe, they make is so you can drive it anywhere. Hince the 2 dials on speedometer. Thats why you asked, right??

Yeah thats why I asked, but why on earth are you getting a US spec M3 in europe?

Canada uses KMs same as europe, and our Canadian spec M3s only have KMs on the speedometer...

If I'm not mistaken, all US spec ///M's get their speedometer with both miles and kms on them (I've seen pictures of the dash in US spec cars and they all seemed to have the dual speeds on them). That's why his car came with that speedo...it's the US spec version.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm off base on this.

To the OP, congrats on your new ///M. Enjoy it in good health.

It's just too bad they had to screw up your front bumper by installing the lisence plate holder (and I'm assuming they drilled into the bumper to mount it).

He probably got it through the BMW Military Sales Program (at a great price). I don't think they sell euro spec. Then he'd probably have to pay $$ to convert the car to meet U.S. standards if he wants to take it back to the the greatest nation in the world

Nice toy to have on R&R!
Stay safe when you go back over there, or here.... lol

Nice car, I guess you don't have to do the US bumper conversion in order to be different over there!

Im gettting US Spec because I am in the military, and therefore get stationed in US as well. I can take US cars anywhere, but the other way around, I would have to convert and pay extra money for it.

Your right about the military sales program. Pentagon Car sales is the company I bought it thru. They give military discounts. I payed a tad over 60 for an 09 fully loaded. So that worked out. And yes. This is a great toy for R&R. Thanks...

Actually I was kinda joking, 'cause here in the states people do everything possible to hide the orange relfectors (paint, clears, smoked etc.) Even swaping with euro bumpers.
