Here is the link to a video that Ryan from Fields BMW made for me while I was making a decision. Very nice of him to take the time out to record this.
The car has 200 miles on it...as you can see in the video, he revs it up to what sounds like maybe 5-6000 rpm...so my question to you guys is, will that affect the breaking in of the engine? I will not take it further than 5500 rpm when I receive the car. I kind of wish he hadn't revved it up that high.. |

Congrats on the purchase! Revving the engine won't hurt the break-in. If it does, tell them to take it back.
Try not to get an ulcer while waiting for it to arrive! Trevor

+1 .. don't worry. Man if only revving the engine once or twice a couple of hundred RPM over 5500 is going wreck it ... we should all be driving Toyotas instead . It's an F1 block with a specially forged crank and heavy duty piston connecting rods designed to withstand repeated 8500 rpm bursts all day long in extreme duress race conditions.
It'll be just fine ... just enjoy looking forward countless miles of enjoyable driving. |

Thanks, but the power is nothing new to me. I just sold my corvette c6 which was well modified (450 rwhp) to buy an M3. I have always wanted and M car and was waiting for the E92. Even though it doesn't have the insane grizzly power of a vette, it is powerful enough to keep me busy. I will enjoy it and after 1200 miles I will drive it like I stole it. Here are some pics of my vette which I miss and think about every night. Just sold it last thursday and that is when I bought the M.
