thanks to the Evolve tune I finally realized how much fun the M3 could be with proper power. Power is addicting, I started looking at super charger all day. The only thing stopping me transferring my money right now is I just paid for my ESS tune only a month ago and it is not like I can sell it to my friend. I will try to resist the temptation for as long as I could but the dark force is very powerful.
I want to know if anyone got the VT1-535 immediately regret not going for the higher VT2-6xx?

isn't the 535 kit non-intercooled? despite, ^ are the ess kits "up-gradable," in terms of going from 535 to ...650?

I'm pretty sure you can go straight up like that, from 535 to 650. Off the top of my head, you just have to add the intercooler, tune, and new pulley for the blower.

I believe you need larger injectors as well. I upgraded from the 575 to the 600 and wish I would have gone big from the start. If it fits within your budget, get the 625 or 650 right off the bat and save the hassle and additional incremental expense of upgrading.

All of the kits are upgradeable. Everyone is different on how much power they feel is enough, some upgrade over time and other stay with what they originally decided on. I have had every version of kit in my personal M3 and they are all great in their own way. Im currently running the VT1-535 and find that the car has great balance. The high HP VT2 kits can take the car to crazy fast if that is what you desire

I was wondering this as well. I think I'll jump into a VT2-600 kit next spring My main thing is I want an intercooled kit. The price cost vs what you gain for the 625 doesn't seem that great and the 650 is definitely more than I want to spend.

nice to hear that you're running a non-intercooled kit in AZ as it must be hot as shit. I am contemplating pulling the trigger on the 535 but was worried about the SF heat.

Hey Roman, quick question for you, I just installed my VT1 in my car today and I'm still waiting for my map to arrive via e-mail, do you think it's too late for today, I heard AJ was working late today!?

Shoot me a pm if you can, thanks!

Alex

Can't go wrong with any ESS Kit. i have the vt2 600 bc I knew I would eventually go the biggest I could for CA, so I just saved myself the time and went with the big dog If I could I would be rolling the 650.

There's nothing to regret. The kits make tons of reliable power at a great price.

Cool. I will be dynoing in a few weeks with a VT2 600, Akra slip and full catless MRF mid pipe + meth. Without meth we should be around the same RWHP. Guessing 525-530ish on EAS dyno on a mild temp day without the meth.

You should come out to the next Shift-S3ctor Airstrip Event Nov 10th/11th in Central Cali. You will actually be able to stretch those legs of yours for once...legally

That will be great to see your results. I had the full MRF system on my last M3. it was an awesome system.

I would love to attend the airstrip event, just depends on my schedule. But if I can't make it I will be def interested to see how you do!

It is very reassuring for me to hear Roman chose the vt1-535 for his own car.
My car already had primary delete and a tune, what kind of gain will I get comparing to a stock car?
I have never seen any 0-100kmh number from supercharged M3. Is it because the gain is mainly for higher rpm high speed run?
Would a vt1-535 keep up with my brother's stock C63 performance pkg? He pulls away from me third gear up even after my tune.

Does anyone have any real comparisons to a bolt-on (full exhaust, pulley, fiter) and tuned M3 to a VT535 with full exhaust? Either dyno charts or videos?

I was thinking of getting the VT535 as its the best bang for the buck. I love the fact that the VT575 has an intercooler as i feel it would greatly help just to make things run smoother, longer.

Back to the comparison. I see on youtube ESS has some clips of the VT535 running against a stock M3. It pulls hard, but what about against an M3 which has a full exhaust, filter, pulley and tune??

I see another guy on youtube who has some pulls with a program that shows his speedo on the screen. I compared them to my car which is not even supercharged and it seems his is slower. That boggles me. I know it depends on location, octane, temperature etc. I really wanna know what kind of power increase i would see from going from my current set-up (full exhaust, filter, pulley, tune) to a VT535.

Also, this i guess is directed more towards ESS themselves, but is it possible to get the VT535 and just add the intercooler? As i stated before, i feel it will help in the long run to keep things running smoother and longer with no problems.

This will give you an idea of the power difference between the VT1-535 with stock exhaust and a stock M3 with stock exhaust. The VT1-535 will make an easy 110-130 whp more than a NA car that is stock or has full bolt on mods. This makes it a great value in my opinion considering you can spend close to the same amount buying all of the NA bolt on mods available.

110-130 whp for stock car. That means at least 150 hp for catless?

Depends on the exhaust system. We have seen some cars make more than others with different systems. We never quote numbers or tell customers what power they will or will not make based on products we do not build so the gains you get from any aftermarket exhaust changes we will just say can vary.

I started with the 535 on my DCT E92 after having my 6spd sedan. There is no comparison from a fully bolt on car to a 535! The 535 is the best bang for the buck but you will want the intercooler and more power soon enough so the 600 kit is the best all around HP IMO for the $
