I agree!!! I have a love hate relationship with my ZCP wheels as well. I just detailed the car this weekend and I decided to try the armorall wheel protectant spray. 150 miles later the seem cleaner. Not sure how it will hold up but if it works I will spend the $8 a month (per can) to save me some time!

I am impressed by the amoral spray! Here are my wheels after 350 miles!

The clumping dust is just sitting on the wheel and can be washed away..the wheels need to be hand washed but not like before.

Just ultra-cleaned and opticoated my wheels this past Saturday. All I can say is WOW. The wheels are still clean. Noramlly the shine would be gone and there would be a grayish tint on the wheels by now, but they are still shiny! I dont regret buying it a bit.

Go in with a friend or two and spend $20-30 apiece. Have a wheel cleaning/opticoat day.You wont be disappointed.

Does the Opticoat help prevent the dust from sticking? Does it really wash away from just spraying?

Yes washing becomes much easier. It depends on how dirty you let them get

So how many opticoat serynges are needed for 4 wheels ? What's the total $ ? I am not a fan of opti-coat for the paint but i do not want to start a debate here as it is a subjective matter of look and touch of the sealant surface versus original paint clearcoat. For the wheel however it is a different story anyone who has been through the pain of cleaning ZCP wheels and see them grey days later knows that something else has to be tried.

The one syringe will do many wheels. I did eight wheels with two light coats and didn't use a quarter of a syringe.

Try cquartz if you're not a fan of opticoat

Since I've had opticoat on my wheels, they definitely stay cleaner. With that said, there's still more brake dust than I want so I'm changing out my pads to stoptech street.

Whenever I get a new set of wheels they are prepped and Opti-Coated before going on the car. It is a "permanent" layer that must be polished off for removal. Any imperfections left before treatment are sealed in. Regular cleaning after proper application should be easy. Nothing else is close longevity wise, as always the prep work is key.

What exactly are the steps to applying it? I take it you need to prime the wheel first, to remove any unwanted deposits?

Cheers

E-z detail brush the blue one medium size I think. Definitely not the small one. It gets the barrels, behind the spokes, and I've put them between the spokes even numerous times and it's still like day one. It's heavy duty stuff
