Installed! Performance Steering Wheel
Post installation review:
First off, I'd like to thank Matt (itsbrokeagain) and Alex (nj323ci) for their help and tool collection in order to get this installed. This was NOT a 100% straight install like I had hoped. I'd say the instructions were 75% accurate FOR THE M3 APPLICATION. For the NJ/NY/CT/PA area if you wish to get this wheel installed PLEASE PM itsbrokeagain After using my car as a guinea it will take no more than an hour for subsequent installs for either the 1 series, 3 series, or M3 (DCT and Manual) Unfortunately, I accidentally turned the car on without the airbag plugged in so now I have a SRS warning light constantly, this is the only thing to watch out for other than the airbag blowing up in your face if you do not disconnect the battery. Confirmed: Perf Wheel DOES WORK WITH DCT AND M3s Hi-res pictures of it installed are here: http://pics.gamershw.com/perfwheel/ YouTube videos (Thank you Dunkaroos for converting!) Look forward to seeing the pics! I guess you would turn off the shift lights on the RPM meter?

let us know how the install goes, im about to install one in a customers 6spd e90 m3, would like to know if the DCT is as straight forward as the sport tranny in my 335i was.
your going to love the wheel, my favorite function is the G-meter, although ive been getting myself into some trouble testing how many G's i can pull going into turns.

Yeah bro, if you can do a write-up with some pics that would be cool! That will make install that much easier for the rest of us!

Looking forward to getting my wheel. How long ago did you place your order?
I was thinking when mine arrives that I would take it to a high end upholstery shop and see if they can redo the stitching to match the M3 stitching.

I placed my order on 6/28. I'll have it installed this weekend so I'll update with pics and a review
I don't think the stitching is a big deal and it will probably be mucho dinero to do the tri color stitching. |

Probably, but I think it would complete the look.

oh man...my steering wheel...grrr...joke joke..
anyway..I really want to know about the installation to a DCT m3, I read too many post about you cannot your paddle shifter...or you have to use the one that has it with it (using the sports paddle came off from 3/1 series)... I have been waiting for this confirmation before I going to order the wheel....and i think this is a good chance for most of us to see how it will work on a DCT... did you order this wheel that is suppose to use it with manual tran? or??

This is the steptronic version so the steering wheel paddles from my stock M3 wheel will carry over. I'll know this saturday if it all works.

I received a tracking number today for the performance wheel that I ordered. I’m looking forward to receiving it.
Next big question is where do I take it to have the wheel installed? I’m thinking I will take it to Crevier. Any thoughts? But before that, off to the upholstery shop to see if I can have the stitching replaced to match the OEM stitching. Will keep you posted.
