Metro Master Blaster...Worth it?
Anyone using the Metro Master Blaster? At $350 list price, I wanted to consult fellow M3 detailing enthusiasts before a purchase. Have experience with the Metro Vac N Blow. Use it now after wash to remove all major water, however due to lack of power A) Takes a while on entire car B) Spotted water by the time I'm done.
What makes this $350 dollars worthy, that say a quality leaf blower cant do? Input please |

My $40 leaf blower does the job just fine. Can't justify spending that much on a blower. Would rather spend it on a cr spotless unit

Master Blaster has more drying capacity with a filter system that delivers cleaner air. The air is also heated for faster drying. The rubber nozzle can save you in case of accidentally touching the paint. The air flow is more precise. I use the CR Spoless as well. You can live without either one but both make the job easier. The 4 HP (which I own) one is under $200 and is powerful enough for drying an M3 which is not that big.

I have a master blaster and it is worth every penny. I haven't dried a car by hand in over a year. Its great for blowing out small crevices, kidney grills you name it. Yea its a little pricey but I use it all the time and couldn't see myself not having one. A leaf blower doesn't come even close to competing with this

To each his own. Warm air helps on a cold day, if the unit chilled the air would you be indifferent to that? Long hose and precise air flow is useful. Filter protects motor and helps keep output cleaner just as any filter does. Made in America, go ahead and point your Chinese leaf blower at your M and hope it does not implode, machine gunning your car with its substandard internal parts. If you can afford it worthwhile but as I said not required.

Only thing holding me back from getting this, is convenience. Don't have an attached garage, so need to walk from my Apt down to garage with all detailing stuff and buckets on wash day.
Is it something you don't want to be lugging around in my situation? |

IMO the faster the water is off the car, the less chance of water spots. Not sure if the water here in Arizona is hard, but if left standing on the car more then 5 minutes after washing, you'll get some bad spots.

I had one, the 8hp version. While it worked well, I ended up selling mine and using my craftsman electric leaf blower instead. I wouldn't say the metro blaster worked proportionately better than the leaf blower when you compare price:effectivness. The metro blaster also meant finding another spot in the garage to store it.

My "I got it on sale" sears leaf blower isn't that far behind in performance when compared to the metro. Pretty even race if you ask me. The metro's attachments are nice, but I still don't think they are worth that much more money.

I would most likely use only one attachment - which I do now with the Vac N blo, so that's not a selling point for me. Strictly concerned with shortening time it takes to fully dry the car with a blower.
