Best Toronto Roads

Looks like I'll be picking up my new 2011 m3 at 7pm tonight! Oh man - been two long months...crikey.

Was wondering if anyone in Toronto could recommend some sweet roads/paths/tunnels/on-ramps where I can drive? My SA told me to hit up Forks of the Credit for some very nice scenic drives (I may go there this weekend!).

There is one street called Foster Crescent around the 427 where you can do WOT runs (which I won't be able to do until 1200kms...sigh).

Thanks guys! This forum really helped me through all the pain and anguish!

There are no good roads in the Toronto area The FOC is a waste of time with a 50km limit & tons of cops, nice area to go to however. If you want good roads you need to travel at least 2 hours to find them.Enjoy the car and congrats!

Second that. In GTA there is really no good roads and I attribute that to "Miller Management". I usually take my car (not the Accord) out to Leslie street up north. Once you go past 16th the roads are quite flat and smooth all the way up to Newmarket with 1-2 "interesting corners to negotiate". My friend in Milton also took me on a route of new flat roads from Milton thru Flenborough to close to Burlington. Those are new roads and so flat you can focus on looking out for cops (but that day I saw none).

In short, again, GTA has no good roads.

+1 on Leslie (but) north of Stoufville Road. I love that little area where it turns single lane, and you get that blind sweeping right hander that heads down towards the pond/lake (when heading north). It's a great little stretch.

Halton Hills has some nice roads, but lots of cops as well.
There are basically no great driving roads in the GTA.

When I was in Atlanta, you could drive 1 hour to the mountains and it was simply amazing. Sometimes I think I should move to Vancouver.

Driving sea-to-sky in a blizzard in a rental toyota yaris was the most fun I had on public roads in Canada. In GTA the most thrill I can find is going over foot-tall speed bumps in my driveway. Good thing we have trackdays.

"interesting corners to negotiate" = the pond/lake lol. If you are not careful, you go right in.

Vancouver local is bad since their roads are tight and no highway and tons of red light cameras. Richmond is worse since cops there have nothing to do other then giving out tickets. I think once you get on 91 then heading towards Whistler that stretch is very good (other than the cops, but that's where your radar comes in). And Vancouver is going have 144.9 as gas price (regular) tomorrow.

No use dreaming about the sea-to-sky up to Whistler. It's riddled with cops with Ka and lasers, and the tough speeding laws make it worthless. >40km/h over the limit (only 80) earns you a lovely one week impound and an expensive cab ride home.
