r888s or AD08Rs
right now I'm on 295 PSS and I'm looking for something with more dry grip
I've got the 295s on comp wheels that have 2mm taken off the inside of them with kw club sports and it rubs a touch over bumps when going quick do the r888s or the AD08Rs run a little smaller then the PSS? I'm told a 295 in a PSS is more like a 305 but i don't know if this is right right now I'm wheel spinning to much at the top of 2nd and the top of 3ed and I'm after something that will take care of that but i also don't really want the wheels to rub! if you guys know of any other tires that would be better then the PSS for me let me know |

Looking at dimensions on Tire Rack, the section width of the AD-08 is slightly smaller ( 11.5 vs 11.9 inches) than the PSS, but the tread widths ( 11.5) are the same. I have run both on my stock suspension E92 in 295/30/19 without issues. I think the rim protection rubber on the sides of the PSS is a little thicker.
Traction wise, for hot or track use the AD-08 is far better, for cold and wet the PSS.

ad08 run way wider than PSS. they also grip much better
once again, PSS are good street tires but they pale in comparison to real extreme summer tires when it comes to ultimate grip and cornering. additionally, running a 295 on a 10 inch wheels is not a good idea IMO. I would bet that you would have better results running an ad08r in 275 on that wheel. the grip levels shouldn't suffer much and you will have a much better fitment. |

The R888 is a different tire than the AD08r. You are comparing a street tire with a competition tire. The AD08r you can still drive in the rain but you shouldn't on the r888 especially if they are worn / shaved. That being said, you may never drive in the rain so that wouldn't affect you. Just pointing it out incase you didn't know. If you did, ignore please! Happy choosing!

additionally, I have run re11 and PSS on the same wheel and the re11 was much wider than the pss. the shape of the tire is totally different, RE11 is much more square. I have also seen ad08 next to PSS on the same wheel, and the ad08 is significantly wider the difference between 295 and 275 is not that significant, and the fact that A ) the wheel / tire fitment on a 295 is not stretched enough and B ) the fact that PSS is far inferior to AD08 in overall grip tells you that the results of the ad08 would be better. IF you feel like you need 295s, you should buy wider wheels (10.5-11 inches) and run an ad08 on that wheel |

R888 is a "rounder" tire/profile than the more square and stable AD08. AD08 is thus more stable but the R888 is an R-comp and a stickier tire. The RA1 has a square profile and is an R-comp and a great tire. Better than both in the rain when new and about the same as the R888 when worn to a slick.
IMO the AD08 and PS2 were fairly similar with the AD08 just edging it out, but i've never driven on the PSS to compare but it should be a lot better than the PS2. Why not go with a Nitto NT01? I'd probably take a 275 NT01 over a 295 R888/PSS/AD08. |

agree. to be clear, I am comparing PSS to RE11, but I have driven both on the track on the same car and the re11 is way better and wears way less. it is a far superior tire for that purpose

both the re11 and ad08 are very similar tires. the main difference to me is that the ad08 is available in more m3 friendly sizes. hopefully that will change with the new re11R |

I like AD08's and can only assume that AD08R's are better. I agree with one of the other posts above in that 275/35/19 may have better results with the 10" wide ZCP wheel.
I have never used RE11's so I can't compare them to AD08R's.

I will further elaborate that the AD08 keeps its performance up over the course of many track days much better than the PS2 where the PS2 falls off in performance and grinds of the shoulder of its circumferential grooves after a day or session (depending on how heavy the car is), but outright new vs. new the PS2 isn't that far off. This was back to backed on my E36 M3 and have driven on AD08s on many different cars. |

Just to note, Tirerack and the tire vendor both recommend 10 to 11" inches widths for a 295/30/19. which would fit the ZCP wheel.
I tracked with the 295/30/19 AD-08 for 2 years on my ZCP wheels with good results. NT-01 is fine dry, or with just a damp road/ track. Standing water, no especially once any wear occurs......

AD08's are the widest and squarest tires I have ever seen. I have had both and AD08's are wider than PSS. The only portion of the PSS that may be technically wider is at the rim edge. The PSS has a big "rim protector" ridge.
