Fuel Consuption
Hi all. My first post.
I am getting about 13L / 100km from my E92 M3 convertible. It has 22,000km on the clock and as a result I would have thought run in. I used to get a combined town/highway consumption of around 10 to 10.3l / 100 km from my E46 M3 conv. With the spike in gas prices in the last few weeks I now need a second mortgage to run the car. What is the best combined consumption you guys are getting? Should I consider getting the dealer to reset the computer? Love the car. Arctic silver on black. Still miss the rag top though. Cheers |

Your driving style has more to do with your fuel consumption than anything. Check your tire pressures lately? But ultimately, your new car's weight and shorter gearing aren't kind to your wallet. 6MT or M-DCT?

I believe you drive an E93, not an E92 vert.
Anyhow, 13L/100km (about 18mpg) is fantastic, and you should be bragging about your frugal gas consumption, not the opposite!!! I get 15.1L/100km. Many others here will attest to higher consumption. Hwy/city ratio will be your biggest determining factor.

Just filled up today with range of 20miles and 240 miles since last fill up. So if I ran it dry, 260 miles full tank.

Thanks for the info all. It seems I should be happy with 13l/100. Just need to forget about the great consumption from the previous M3.
T.he car is great and I will say a little prayer each night for gas prices to come down. I will remember to bring a big wad of cash if I ever get the opportunity to take it for a track day. Thanks again |
