Newbie needs help: OPEN ROAD BMW EDISON 1200 Service not Free?
Excuse me if I'm wrong here. But my M3 is at 1500miles already and idrive vehicle status says it needs service - oil. The computer says OK on oil though.
I called to make a appointment for 1200 service and the lady said I didn't have to bring the car until 15000miles? And IF I need to add oil I have to pay for it? So I'm like.. huh? I just wanted to know if shes right or just didn't know what she's saying. Thanks for you help. Newbie. |

You should change dealers immediately. I cannot even comprehend how that could make sense in any way. You need that service and it is free, they are meant to do a complete oil change on the vehicle, amongst other things..

Thanks! Apparently no one knows anything about the M3 there except for the master mechanic. They had to argue with me and ask the mechanic, of course the service people was told by the mechanic that they were wrong and I was right.

Open Road BMW should know what they are doing. Ask to speak with the SA that deals with M cars. They are also a sponsor to the NJ CCA. Also depending on the transmission you have the trans fluid gets changed. DCT NO and manual YES. Mine was bought used and manual trans was not changed. Diff fluid gets changed as well, but that is with both transmissions. You could always head down to Circle BMW and speak with Tim Meritzis who deals with M car service. He knows what he is doing and happens to be a club member. Good luck

Time for a new dealer. Also, don't wait much longer. Your warranty can be voided if you go over the mileage for the 1200 service.

Thanks for the input guys! The car is actually 1700 when the service reminder lit up, 500miles over. JMK is taking care of it now. Big difference compared to the previous dealership.

When I got my car from OPEN ROAD BMW they also had no clue on the 1200 miles oil Change. It took me to argue with the SA/TECH and then SALES MANAGER who sold me the car to get them to get me my oil change after!!! Change Service Centers I did!
