Since both mating parts are aluminum, I used an aluminum-based anti-seize, Permatex High Temperature High Performance Anti-Seize (I've had this a long time--their products are under the Never Seez label now. I like the one on this list called "Nuclear Grade": http://www.neverseezproducts.com/antiseize.htm.

So, here are a few photos I shot late today. Nothing too exteme, but 100% better than a few days ago. Stock PS2s, 12mm spacers F&R, Dinan Stage 1 springs. I have not had an alignment done since the springs went in, so camber may be off.

Looks excellent, very clean. Have a straight on side view? Curious how the Dinan drop looks from that angle.

I wouldn't say it is required...just a preaution. The RE spacers do have the pry slot in on the back edge in case they get stuck.

Ha Ha! Nuclear Grade Never Seize. Good stuff.

Nuclear grade means it has limited chemical content to be compatible with the coolant systems in nuclear reactors. It helps out with inter granular stress corrosion cracking issues.

Do you use anti seize between the wheel and hub if you are not using a spacer?

Oh, and the PNW weather has been absolutely terrible so far this year. It's freakin May and it feels like early March outside.

GregW,

Do you have any shaking, wheel shimmy or anything else since the spacers would put on? No change in handling or feel of the wheel right?

You certainly can, but I have not and have not had any issues.

No, all parts fit tightly and kept centered on the hub.

Does anybody have any experience with the Velocity Motorcars spacers?

I was thinking of getting those because they have the rotor retaining screw - so they would 100% stay on the hubs when the wheels are off. Other than that they look like any other set of spacers (and cost the same).

I was wondering if anybody has tried them on, or things they would be a good idea...

(Yes, the new Rogue spacers look amazing).

While the screw is a nice idea, in reality the fit should be snug enough that they aren't going to go anywhere when you are changing wheels.

Greg,

I was admiring the pictures of your car today. The stance is perfect--not too high, not too low, and the 12mm spacers all the way around are a nice touch on the stock 19s.

I've been looking at pictures of various E90x M cars since I bought my E93 in mid-March, and one of the things that has struck me is that the convertible seems to sit lower than the E90 or E92s I've seen.

I spent a while studying your pictures and my car in the garage tonight, and mine (completely stock) is sitting about like yours is now on the Dinan springs. Of course my wheels/tires are tucked in more minus spacers. I've seen many pictures of stock sedans and coupes that look higher. Could it be that the extra 400 lbs., we're carrying in the E93 are responsible?

BTW, I never thought I do this, but I ordered four 12mm Rogue spacers today. I think you've sold a lot of RE spacers recently. I agree with your conservative approach, I didn't want the 15mm on the front either, and like you, I think that's a good approach until our RACs show up.

Looking good Greg. My springs and camber plates will be installed on Monday. I agree that Dinan's customer service needs to be improved. Hard to get a hold of someone at sales...

Thanks! I've been through wild mod times, but as I "mature" (I would hope so by now), a little restraint goes a long way. I want to respect the basic engineering they did in Munich, but jut subtly tweak to make it "mine".

It's a fabuloous car to start with. These forums are great at getting everyone to try to outmod the next (Mexico, you're untouchable!). In the end, to 98% of the population we've already got a dream car. So, don't do anything to impress. Just tweak to make it personal. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
